Technology

Mizuno uses their signature Grain Flow Forged process to create each JPX 923 Forged iron. Every golf club is created in their legendary facility located in Hiroshima, Japan. Mizuno uses a unique construction process to fine-tune the performance of each iron. The 4-7 irons are forged from a single billet of 4120 Chromoly and then back milled from heel to toe. This creates more explosive ball speed in a more compact profile while also allowing for a thinner club face. Then the 8 iron through gap wedge are forged from 1025E Pure Select mild carbon steel for soft feel and precision.

They also created a new V-Chassis design for the JPX 923 Forged irons to enable an even thinner topline, preferred by more skilled golfers. Using Mizuno’s Harmonic Impact Technology, the V-Chassis allows for a thinner topline while creating a more muscleback-like feel from a cavity back design which usually requires a thicker topline. Their engineers were also able to refine the scoring irons. The 7 iron through gap wedge feature a noticeably shorter blade length and a more compact profile.

Finally, Mizuno added additional bevelling to the trailing edge of each iron for smooth, consistent turf interaction on every swing from every type of lie. Then it is all finished off with Mizuno’s white-satin brush finish. This finish is non-reflective and Chrome-plated to reduce bright glare at address to keep you focused on the golf ball and making your best swing.

Who It’s For

The Mizuno JPX 923 Forged irons are a great fit for mid-handicap players who want distance and forgiveness in longer irons with precision in the scoring irons while also prioritizing soft feel and responsive feedback. Their unique blend of forged materials throughout the set give you the performance you need specific to each golf club in a mid-sized iron.
