Cobra Speedzone Drivers Are Here To Speed Past The Competition

When Cobra developed its line of golf clubs for 2020, named Speedzone, they took inspiration from the fastest cars in the world. That inspiration led to the development of six performance zones each specifically designed to help you experience top speed from your driver. Every component has been re-engineered for maximum power. Watch our exclusive video review to see just how these zones work to take your drives to new distances.

Speedzone’s Unique Performance Zones

With the introduction of these unique zones of performance to optimize every shot, Cobra is speeding into the future of golf. The drivers in the Speedzone family use six different zones to power your tee shots.

  1. Power – CNC-milled infinity face enlarges the area of the face that is at the legal limit of speed
  2. Strength – T-Bar titanium speed chassis is lighter and stronger to deliver excellent stability and feel during high-speed impact
  3. Light – 360° carbon wrap crown covers 50% of the club’s body, adding stiffness to the chassis while saving 25 grams of weight
  4. Low CG – Speedback weighting places 69 grams of mass as low in the head as possible to create a low center of gravity for impressive launch
  5. Aero – Speedback streamlined shaping with milled perimeter leading edges use airflow with greater precision to maximize acceleration through impact.
  6. Stability – Weight is placed low and wide in the head to stabilize the club and maximize results on shots hit off-center

Two Speedzone Driver Options

With Speedzone, Cobra offers two drivers that share this formula for speed. There is the low spin and workability in the Speedzone driver and then a Speedzone Extreme driver for golfers who want maximum forgiveness.

  • Speedzone Driver – A traditional-shaped driver with front-to-back center of gravity adjustability that is perfect for golfers who want to easily work the ball and fine-tune launch and spin performance.
  • Speedzone Xtreme Driver – A larger shaped driver with more perimeter weighting and a tungsten back weight all designed to help golfers hit the ball extremely far and incredibly straight.

Appearance

When first picking it up, the Cobra Speedzone driver’s stand-out characteristics are instantly noticeable. The carbon fiber crown pops at address with its subtle pattern while two raised ridges look fast and help capture the ball at address. Cobra’s signature Speedback body shape is carried over from last year so the whole club looks streamlined and sleek, like it is built to go fast. The back weighting is noticeable on the sole and gives the driver a look that you can really launch the ball with all that weight low and back in the head. Finally, the face on the Speedzone driver looks different than any other we have seen before. Cobra still uses CNC milling to make the face fast and consistent, but now the infinity design expands that milling. You can instantly see how the face wraps into the body with more milling, giving it a unique look.

Feel

When you hit the ball with this driver, the feel is as solid as it gets. You can hear it in the impact, too. Contact with the ball feels powerful as you send it down the fairway. It is also feels incredibly forgiving. You can feel that added mass back and low in the club head. The driver feels so stable even when you don’t hit the ball exactly in the center of the face. With sound and feel as pleasing as this, the Cobra Speedzone driver is bound to be a favorite this season.

Thanks for your question. Throughout our testing of the Speedzone golf drivers, we did not notice any extensive damage done to the golf balls by the milled face.
