Cobra Forged Tec Irons Take Players Irons To New Distances

Players iron golfers, listen up. Cobra has a new performance package made just for you. The Cobra King Forged Tec irons combine a classic, muscle back shape with distance technology that gives you the blend of longer shots and playability you are looking for. To see how that combination of control and power work together, watch them in action in our exclusive video review.

Cobra Forged Tec Irons Review

The Cobra Forged Tec irons have an extremely clean look at address. Down by the ball, you see a thin topline and a compact club head that does not show any of the back ends of the sole or the cavity. It is more compact heel to toe than some other players’ distance irons. They also have a little bit more offset when compared to other models in this category, making them a little more forgiving, especially for players who sometimes miss to the right.

Performance-wise, the Forged Tec irons are on par with their players’ distance irons counterparts. Our reviewer produced the optimal spin, launch angle, landing angle, and ball speed with the 7 iron. These irons have a soft and solid feel, which at impact feels a bit more like a thud than a sharper crack. They also provide fantastic turf interaction with no digging at all. The way they glide through the ground and prevent digging makes them a good fit for golfers who have steeper angles of attack.

Like other Cobra irons, the Forged Tec set is available in a one-length option. In testing the one-length set, we found that the gaps are consistent from iron to iron with a consistent feel, repeatable setup, and a fluid swing with every club.

Features

To find the right combination of classic looks, powerful distance and playability in a compact iron, the Forged Tec irons have a mix of new and proven Cobra technologies. Here’s what is under the hood of these new golf clubs.

  • Hollow forged club head creates a low center of gravity and controlled distance
  • Foam-Infused Core injects foam microspheres into the hollow club head to fine-tune that sound and create a softer feel
  • PWRSHELL forged face insert creates a larger sweet spot to produce higher launch and faster ball speed
  • Tungsten weight in the toe centers the center of gravity behind the impact zone for maximum distance and precision, even on off-center strikes
  • Cobra Connect tracks your every swing so you can review your stats, see where you might need more practice, and ultimately improve your game
