Callaway Rogue ST Pro Irons Review by TGW
Technology
For the first time, Callaway Rogue ST irons feature an A.I.-designed Flash Face Cup made from 450 stainless steel. Made from super-strong 450 stainless steel steel, the Flash Face Cup provides speed and spin consistency all across the club face with a unique face pattern specific to each model and loft in the lineup.
Engineers utilized Callaways’ new A.I. Face Optimization for the Rogue ST irons as well. It is unique for each model and loft to create spin rate consistency across the face. It creates a high launch and COR plus a more controlled landing angle to help hold more greens.
Callaway uses high-density tungsten weighting to optimize the center of gravity locations for optimal launch and even more ball speed. Up to 260% more tungsten weight than MAVRIK, these irons feature improved launch conditions and also maximized speed all across the club face.
Callaway’s patented urethane microspheres are pushed further up the face to the 6th groove to further enhance sound and deliver a pure feel while maintaining fast ball speeds.
Performance
We tested the Callway Rogue ST line of irons with the help of Rick Hatfield. Rick is TGW’s Master Fitter and our resident product expert. Our irons testing was conducted indoors at the TGW Pure Performance Center using Foresight Sports launch monitors.
Rick tested the Callaway Rogue ST Pro irons using the 7 iron with a loft of 30.5°. His average swing speed was 81 to 82 mph and he saw an exceptional average ball speed at 112 mph. Rick’s average launch angle with the 7 iron was 18.3° to go along with an average spin rate of 5,177 rpm. He averaged 161 yards of carry distance with a high flight and steep descent angle that will help hold more greens.
