Q & A

  • In creating its new Milled Grind wedge line, TaylorMade relied heavily on feedback from its deep and talented stable of touring professionals. One of the primary goals was to deliver consistency in every wedge in terms of its shaping, sole grind, and edges.
  • Each wedge is individually milled using specialized machinery to ensure the highest quality.
  • From a performance standpoint, new ZTP-17 grooves are creating maximum spin, and the steeper sidewalls of the grooves, along with a strategically placed CG position, are keeping spin rates high while reducing launch angles to give players ultimate control.
  • Making the CG placement possible is a deeper bore design, as 10 grams of weight was saved, making the center of gravity adjustment possible.
  • Milled Grind wedges also have been constructed using soft 8620 Carbon Steel to provide players with exceptional feel on full shots and shots played from around the green

  • Three different grinds are being offered to meet the needs of all golfers.
  • Low-bounce (LB) models have been designed for players with shallow angles of attack and to excel from firmer turf and sand conditions.
  • High bounce (HB) models will be a great option for players with steeper angles of attack and when playing at courses with softer turf and sand.
  • Standard bounce (SB) models will fit golfers with more neutral swings and work well from most turf and sand conditions.
  • TaylorMade Milled Grind wedges come in lofts ranging from 50-60 degrees and with a Satin Nickel Chrome finish.
  • The stock shaft is the True Temper Dynamic Gold, and the stock grip is the Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360.

Multiple Grind Options

Milled Grind wedges offer three unique grind options, the SB, LB, and HB. The SB (standard bounce) was designed for neutral swing shapes and varying turf and sand conditions. The LB (low bounce) was designed for shallow angles of attack and firmer turf and sand conditions. The HB (high bounce) was designed for steeper swings and softer sand and turf.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from greenside bunkers-no fear I recently bought this Taylormade 56* HB13 wedge from TGW and I love it. I'm 78 years old with a 20 handicap and have been playing golf since age 19 and have never been as consistent escaping greenside bunkers as I am with this wedge. It feels better than any Cleveland or Vokey wedge that I've ever owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TM MG Wedges 50, 54 & 58 Decided to try the TM MG wedges as a recommendation from local club pro. My history has been with Vokey wedges. The MG wedges have a slightly straighter leading edge that is really appealing to the eye. Weighting is excellent and spin is terrific. Only had these about a week, but thus far, I'm very impressed with my selection of 50, 54 & 58 degree wedges.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Spin, Decent Grind, Bad Glare I put these in the bag and immediately was able to hit the shots I wanted with them. Specifically noticed a really high amount of spin compared to my last set of wedges. A few negatives to me. I'm a digger but I like to play a lot of different types of shots around the greens. As a digger I should play a high bounce club, but as a shot maker I should have a versatile grind. With these wedges you are forced to make a choice. With others on the market you are not. Outside of that the chrome wedge had some serious glare in the sun. To the point where I had trouble looking down at the shot. For that reason I would recommend the black or copper finish. Other than that it was a little only the heavy side, but that probably also is what helped the spin increase I noticed. Overall good club, could be great with more grind/bounce options.

I’m an average golfer what bounce will be best in a 60 degree

Asked by: Ejnov
10° of bounce would be the standard, most versatile option.

It Asks for dergree of bounce. What is the degree for standard bounce

Asked by: TSDaddyo
The most standard bounce is 10.0 on higher lofted wedges. However, each of the bounces to select from are standard for the different lofts. To know exactly what you would need you would need to be fitted, but it really wont affect your game in a huge way.
