Q & A

PING Men's i200 Irons

Players Club Look, Game-Improvement Performance

With its S-series irons and last year’s iBlade, PING has continued to revolutionize the players iron by offering golfers a clean, compact look with incredible playability. And that is once again the recipe when it comes to the new i200 irons, which despite their thin toplines and minimal offset are arguably the most forgiving players iron that PING has ever created.

  • Extremely thin clubface design and weight that was saved in that process was redistributed to the perimeter of the club to increase MOI.
  • What makes the i200 irons more playable is a higher leading edge and more bounce, which combine to improve turf interaction for more consistent results on slight mis-hits.
  • From a construction standpoint, the i200s were created using soft 431 stainless steel, so they are a cast club, but an elastomer insert has been positioned behind the clubface to create soft feel and crisp acoustics at impact.
  • Adding to the aesthetic beauty of the i200 irons is their elegant hydropearl chrome finish. The stock shaft for the i200 irons will be the AWT 2.0, but other premium aftermarket options are available at no upcharge as well.

PING Men's i200 Irons Black Standard #3-PW AWT 2.0 Steel is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 55.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Having been a devote Titleist shiny forged irons player for many years I was reluctant to switch to cast iron matt finish Ping but I am so glad I did. These are great looking in the bag and ever better behind the ball. Solid feel, penetrating flight & amazing workability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible golf clubs! After two seasons I’m in love. Played forged blades my whole life and yes there is something to that. I am a former golf pro and don’t practice enough anymore. I went this direction even against my desire to purchase iblade (more forgiving than traditional blades) and despite a miss cue went -7 through 10 holes using i200 irons. Ping piper g2 putter also! Yes I birdied the last for -1 71. Lol. They inspire confidence and are one of the best overall golf clubs I’ve played with period. From 40hdc to +11 I would recommend these! Thanks ping for putting out such a great product! Plus no wear spots yet!! Durable!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Iron! Shaping ability when the swing is great and forgiveness when it is off a bit. BTW, I shoot anywhere from upper 80's to upper 90's depending on the day. My old G5 "game improvement iron" would only give forgiveness. Now, after a little attention to my swing I am so happy I went with these clubs! Also, I ordered the Nippon 105tour X-stiff shaft. Get a custom club fitting and try all the shafts!!! They make a Huge difference.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent irons for mid handicappers I have played theses irons since they first came out and loved them up until about a month ago. i have notice they are flying a bit higher and they are going a bit to far. I am also having trouble working the ball. Other then that they are great and i enjoyed them very much

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great clubs! These are a great set of irons. They look fantastic and feel good off the face. Unfortunately, not the irons for me since I like to play my shots a little lower, but great for any mid-handicap player that wants to play a great set of forgiving irons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great irons Bought theses second hand hardly used off a friend who has just bought a set of i500s. Took a few rounds to get used to the feel my previous clubs were forged Mizuno. Now hitting the ball great good flight and distance. I’ve added the utility wedge as well the set was 4 to PW with stiff shafts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great For All Players! As a 13 year old going into a new golf season with starter clubs just was not acceptable. So i persuaded my dad to take me to a local club fitter. Originally, i wanted the p790 irons by taylormade. I tested the p790’s, the 718 ap2’s, and the i200’s. These were buttery soft. Gained 10 plus yards on distance, and walked a way with a brand new set of ping clubs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best iron on the market! My first Ping irob was Ping Eye2 and played these irons for fifteen years. Tried Taylormade, Titliest, and Muzno and just got i200 Ping and I’m back! This is best iron I’ve played in the last 20 years. Thanks Ping!

How do I know what lie angle I need for irons?

Asked by: misterkb
We always recommend seeing a qualified fitter to get the best result, as to what lie angle works best for you. However, as a rule of thumb, you can draw a straight line, using a marker, on the back of the golf ball, and have it facing the clubhead. After you make impact the line will appear on the face. If it's pointing towards the toe, then your club is too upright. If it's pointing towards the heel, then it's too flat.
