Wilson Launch Pad Golf Club Technology
The key to Wilson’s Launch Pad golf clubs’ confidence-inspiring design is their use of advanced technology to elevate shots, increase distance, and produce more consistent contact. For super game-improvement golfers, these designs make a world of difference when you want all the help you can get.
Irons
Designed to eliminate “chunked” shots, the stand-out feature of the Wilson Launch Pad golf irons is the Launch Pad Sole. This sole is designed to help elevate shots while using with and bounce to eliminate that “chunk” shot that can take away a golfer’s confidence. But these are not just hybrids. Wilson set out to make these clubs look like irons with a hollow-body construction.
“We started with an iron approach, we wanted to make it look like an iron. But certain shots can be intimidating. Width and bounce are crucial here. The Launch Pad sole reduce fat shots by 73%, enabling players to attack the course with more confidence,” said Jon Pergande, Wilson’s Manager of Golf Club Innovation.

Wilson Launch Pad Fairway Woods Review
Wilson approached the Launch Pad driver and fairway woods with a different idea. Without having to solve the “chunked” shot problem like the irons, they focused on ending one of the most frustrating problems for game-improvement golfers: that shot that curves severely to the right known as a slice. In order to do that, Wilson made the driver and fairway woods with a moderate amount of offset as well as added weight in the heel of the club head to help get the face closed at impact.
In addition to helping you hit it straighter, the Launch Pad driver will also help you hit it farther. The overall weight of the driver is just 272 grams to help you swing faster without having to swing harder. The fairway woods also include a lighter shaft and grip to help save weight.
“When we decided we wanted to eliminate the slice with these woods, we tried not to create that crazy offset look. There is a subtle amount of offset and internal heel weight. We’ve also included a larger bulge radius and closed the face a little,” Pergande said.
A New Type Of Club
Wilson Launch Pad FY Club Review
Rounding out the Wilson Launch Pad family of golf clubs is a new design: the FY club. Developed through extensive testing in the Wilson Labs, they found that the combination of 41” length and 19.5° loft was the easiest-to-hit set-up for golfers with a handicap of more than 10. Those specs make the FY club the ideal replacement for the 3-iron, 3-hybrid, and 7-wood. It is built similar to the fairway wood with a Carpenter Custom 455 stainless steel face insert, a strong, fast material that helps create a thinner, hotter face to increase distance. Designed to be long, forgiving, and easy-to-hit, the new FY gives game-improvement golfers a new option in their long game.
Wilson Launch Pad golf clubs are now available for pre-order at TGW.com and will ship to you on January 13, 2020.
