Adjustability is a major part of modern golf club technology. From hosels that let you change loft and lie to sliding and replaceable weights, many golf clubs come with some way to customize their performance to your game. That is why Titleist developed the SureFit hosel for their drivers, fairway woods, and hybrids.
How It Works
The Titleist SureFit hosel consists of a sleeve and a ring. Each of those components has 4 settings for a total of 16 loft and lie combinations. The ring has settings labeled A, B, C, and D. The sleeve has settings labeled 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Use your adjustment wrench to loosen the screw in the hosel, then you can set the ring and sleeve to the combination that corresponds to the setting you are looking for. Tighten the screw back down until you hear a click and you’re ready to play.
Drivers & Fairway Woods
Titleist drivers and fairway woods have their own version of the SureFit hosel, separate from the hybrids. Drivers and fairway woods can be adjusted in increments of .75° for both the loft and lie angle. Adjusting the loft up and down changes the launch and trajectory of your shots. Adjusting the lie angle flat or upright changes the left and right direction of your shots. To find which of the 16 settings offers the setup you’re looking for, refer to this visual guide.
For right-handed drivers and fairway woods, the 16 settings are:
- A1 = standard loft, standard lie
- A2 = standard loft, 1.5° upright lie
- A3 = +1.5° loft, 1.5° upright lie
- A4 = +1.5° loft, standard lie
- B1 = standard loft, .75° flat lie
- B2 = standard loft, .75° upright lie
- B3 = +1.5° loft, .75° upright lie
- B4 = +1.5° loft, .75° flat lie
- C1 = -.75° loft, .75° flat lie
- C2 = -.75° loft, .75° upright lie
- C3 = +.75° loft, .75° upright lie

- D2 = -.75° loft, 1.5° upright lie
- D3 = +.75° loft, 1.5° upright lie
- D4 = +.75° loft, standard lie
For left-handed drivers and fairway woods, the 16 settings are:

Hybrids
Titleist hybrids with the SureFit hosel can be adjusted in increments of 1° in both the loft and lie angle. Just like the drivers and fairway woods, adjust the loft to change the trajectory of your shots and adjust the lie to change the direction of your shots. The 16 settings for the hybrid SureFit hosel are represented in these visual guides.
For right-handed hybrids, the 16 settings are:

- B1 = standard loft, 1° flat lie
- B2 = standard loft, 1° upright lie
- B3 = +2° loft, 1° upright lie
- B4 = +2° loft, 1° flat lie
- C1 = -1° loft, 1° flat lie
- C2 = -1° loft, 1° upright lie
- C3 = +1° loft, 1° upright lie
- C4 = +1° loft, 1° flat lie
- D1 = -1° loft, standard lie
- D2 = -1° loft, 2° upright lie
- D3 = +1° loft, 2° upright lie
- D4 = +1° loft, standard lie
For left-handed hybrids, the 16 settings are:
- A1 = +1° loft, standard lie
- A2 = +1° loft, 2° upright lie
- A3 = -1° loft, 2° upright lie
- A4 = -1° loft, standard lie
