TaylorMade Truss Putters Put Structure To Work Creating A More Stable Experience

The triangle is the strongest, most stable shape in nature and now it is the most stable shape on the golf course. TaylorMade Truss putters are designed with the philosophy that two is better than one. That line of thinking led their golf club designers to create a new line of putters with a never-before-seen triangular hosel design.

By using two connection points on the hosel into the club head, the TaylorMade Truss putters are made to be more stable and reduce twisting on off-center hits. Continue reading to get the inside story of the design and see how the Truss design is changing the game on the greens.

TaylorMade Truss Putters Review

Technology

Everything with the TaylorMade Truss putters start with the new Truss hosel design. By creating two connection points into the club head, the Truss hosel makes these putters more stable than ever because it creates an extreme resistance to twisting. In addition to being more forgiving on off-center putts, the increased stiffness of the Truss hosel improves sound and feel by reducing the frequency of vibrations.

TalyorMade’s signature PureRoll Insert is included in the Truss putters as well. Designed for better sound, feel, and roll, this insert creates a softer feeling putter face. The PureRoll design helps induce forward roll and reduce skidding to get your putts rolling on your target line faster and truer. Faster, pure roll also helps you better control distance to become a better putter as well.

TaylorMade also made specific, interchangeable weights for each length of every putter to match the performance golfers are looking for. These weights are adjustable and interchangeable to give golfers personalized control over head weight and center of gravity. The 33” Truss putters come with a 365-gram head weight, 34” putters have a 355-gram head weight, and 35” models have a head weight of 345 grams.

To top off the design, TaylorMade uses the KBS Stepless CT Stability shaft in the Truss putters. The entire length of this steel shaft has been reinforced to make it more stable to give you a smooth, easy putting stroke without worrying about the shaft whipping or flexing.

Who It’s For

The TaylorMade Truss putters are a great fit for golfers of all ability, skill, and experience levels. All golfers can benefit from this revolutionary stable and forgiving design. With four options to choose from: a heel-shafted blade, a center-shafted blade, a heel-shafted mallet, or a center-shafted mallet, there is a shape and toe hang design to fit every player.

Performance

Our performance testing was done by Rick Hatfield, the head golf pro at Flint Hills National Golf Club and TGW’s resident product expert. The radical hosel design hides itself at address so performance gets off to a great start by being able to line up your putts easily. TaylorMade’s Pure Roll insert gets the golf ball rolling on your target line quickly and easily while providing a pleasing feel. Most importantly, the Truss hosel design makes these putters extremely stable. By reducing twisting and getting your ball rolling toward your target, the Truss putters can help make you a better putter.

Appearance

When you look at the TaylorMade Truss putters, you immediately notice the triangular hosel. It truly does offer a more stable appearance. At address, you don’t even notice the different hosel shape. Each putter looks like a traditional blade or mallet. The Truss hosel doesn’t stick out or impede your sightline in any way down by the ball. Each putter also has a nickel-cobalt finish that looks sleek and reduces glare on the greens.

Feel & Sound

Thanks to the Pure Roll insert, the TaylorMade Truss putters offer soft feel and a pleasing sound when you hit the golf ball. You get a nice “click” that is not too muted and not too loud at impact. The feel is where these putters truly shine. TaylorMade’s signature Pure Roll insert sets a high standard for golfers who prefer soft-feeling putters and inserts. Golfers will enjoy the feel and sound of the Truss putters.
