Introducing the 2019 PING G410 Golf Clubs

It is shaping up to be a big year for PING, who kicked off 2019 by introducing their new G410 line of golf clubs. The PING G410 family includes new drivers, fairways, hybrids, and irons, as well as a new crossover club. This updated line of clubs, the G family, is designed to make the game easier for golfers of all ability levels. G410 includes all the distance and forgiveness benefits to help you hit the ball straighter and farther, making golf more fun. Watch the exclusive video above to see what G410 clubs you should add to your golf bag.

PING G410 DRIVER REVIEW

Technology

One of the first major innovations in the PING G410 line is the G410 Plus driver. This is the first PING driver to feature a sliding weight system. There is also a Straight Flight Tec model and Low Spin Tec model available again. Weight savings from the ultra-thin crown are redistributed within the club head to optimize the center of gravity location with Internal Dragonfly Technology. A unique forgiving process and patented heat-treatment process of high-strength T9S+ material powers a thinner, hotter club face with maximum flex and higher ball speeds across the entire face.

Who It’s For

There is a PING G410 driver for every golfer. The PING G410 Plus is the base model which fits the most golfers. Players get speed and distance with the added benefit of the sliding weight along the skirt of the club that helps fine-tune trajectory and gift golfers a little more control. This is something golfers of all abilities can benefit from. For players who battle a slice, they will want the G410 SFT model which features more draw bias. For high swing speed golfers who need to reduce spin to boost distance, the G410 LST model is for them.

Performance

The biggest performance improvement we noticed with the PING G410 Plus driver was the ability to manipulate that perimeter weight. Moving that weight around gave our club tester the ability to increase his landing zone in the fairway by being able to move the ball and shape his shot. The ability to take away a trouble spot on the course and increase your landing zone helps save strokes and keep you out of trouble and in the short grass.

Appearance

The PING G410 Plus has a very clean look at address. They have moved the Dragonfly Technology to the inside of the club head to clean up the look at address a little bit. Their turbulators stand out a little more which looks great along with the red accent color.

Feel & Sound

The feel and sound of the PING G410 drivers is consistent with PING’s previous models. They have a pleasing sound that lets you know you made solid contact and feel that is explosive as the ball is sent powering down the fairway.

PING G410 FAIRWAY WOOD REVIEW

Technology

PING’s G410 fairway woods are built for a new level of speed, distance, and stability in a versatile fairway design. The center of gravity is aligned with the force line to maximize ball speed and increase stability for added distance and forgiveness. A forged steel face is made of high-strength maraging steel, allowing for a thinner face to increase ball speed and distance. High-density tungsten back weighting increases MOI for more forgiveness, made possible by a thinner crown so more weight can be placed deeper in the head.  An eight-lobe trajectory tuning hosel lets you adjust the lie +/-1.5° as well as choose neutral or flatter lie angles for truly personalized performance.

Who It’s For

Just like the drivers, there is a PING G410 fairway wood to fit everyone. PING G410 fairways are ideal for every golfer, providing distance and forgiveness in an area where all golfers can benefit. PING G410 SFT fairways are a game improvement design, featuring larger club heads and higher lofts for increased forgiveness and higher launch. Finally, the PING G410 LST fairway is ideal for golfers who need to reduce spin in order to gain more distance and help them hold greens more effectively.

Performance

When testing the PING G410 fairway woods, we saw a noticeable difference in shot shape. The standard G410 fairway wood produced a nice high trajectory, great distance, and the ability to work the golf ball both directions. The G410 LST model hit a lower ball flight and was easier to manipulate left to right or right to left. The G410 SFT was a “super draw machine” with great trajectory and the ability to start shots off to the right knowing they were going to come back to the left.

Appearance

The PING G410 fairway woods carry many of the same appearance cues as the drivers. They feature the black crown with red accents and a cleaned-up crown that reduces distractions at address but also helps frame the ball for your next shot.

Feel & Sound

The sound of the PING G410 fairway woods is great. It is a solid, pleasing sound that matches the solid contact you make with the golf ball. Our club tester noticed it was among his favorite sound and feel of any fairway wood.

PING G410 HYBRID REVIEW

Technology

The PING G410 hybrids are designed to be versatile, faster, and long all over the golf course in a package that is easier to hit than long irons. Multi-material construction features a maraging steel face and a stainless steel head to increase ball speed while using a high-density tungsten back weight for increaser forgiveness. A forged steel face is made of high-strength maraging steel, allowing for a thinner face to increase ball speed and distance. An eight-lobe trajectory tuning hosel lets you adjust the lie +/-1.5° as well as choose neutral or flatter lie angles for truly personalized performance.

Who It’s For

Designed to be more forgiving, longer, and easier to hit than long irons, the PING G410 hybrids are a great option for all golfers who want a little more versatility in their long game. Game improvement golfers will especially love the added distance and control in an easy-to-hit package the G410 hybrid design provides over a traditional long iron.

Performance

During our testing, we saw some outstanding performance from the PING G410 hybrids. Our club tester saw the same distance from a G410 4 hybrid as he was getting from his current 3 hybrid. We noticed a nice high trajectory and landing angle that will help golfers hold more greens from longer distances. The G410 hybrid produce an average of around 191 yards per shot in our testing.

Appearance

The PING G410 hybrids feature an appearance that we really liked. They have a flat black crown, a cleaned-up crown for less distractions, and red accents that make them stand out in the golf bag. We were impressed with the appearance of the G410 golf club line and the hybrids are no exception.

Feel & Sound

The feel and sound of the PING G410 hybrids were consistent with the G410 metalwoods. These golf clubs feel and sound great through impact and let you know you made solid contact with the golf ball.

PING G410 IRONS REVIEW

Technology

The PING G410 irons have changed the way they do game improvement for 2019. PING has removed the Custom Tuning Port and added extra weight in the heel and toe of the club for greater forgiveness. The 410 irons also feature Cor-Eye Technology for a more flexible face to boost ball speed at impact. The top rail undercut also increases the flexibility of the face by increasing the unsupported area of the club face. Added toe and hosel weighting puts more weight in the perimeter of the club for higher MOI which means more forgiveness. G410 irons feature a shorter blade length and less offset for a cleaner, more refined look down by the ball. Finally, a co-molded cavity badge dampens vibrations to create powerful feel and sound.

Who It’s For

PING G410 irons are an ideal fit for a large group of golfers. The game improvement technology comes in a slightly more compact shape that will appeal to more players. PING’s G410 model helps golfers who need to hit the ball farther and straighter while also offering a look that will please the more traditional player.

Performance

The word our club tester used to describe the performance of the PING G410 irons was “phenomenal.” We saw an increase in both club head and ball speed in the 7 iron which gave us carry distances of around 167 yards. With those speeds and distances from the 7 iron, the technology in these clubs does its job and helps make the game easier by making the golf course shorter.

Appearance

The PING G410 irons feature their signature Hydropearl finish which gives them a great appearance. It is not a shiny chrome or a matte color but it maintains that silver look without a lot of glare. Not only does it look great, but it actually repels water to improve performance in wet conditions or on dewy mornings. The red and black accents are here in the badge as well and it looks great together. We also noticed they are a little shorter heel-to-toe and have a little less offset which we noticed at address.

Feel & Sound

The feel and sound of the PING G410 irons was pleasing at impact. They felt and sounded great and weren’t too loud like some game improvement irons can be. These golf clubs are a pleasure to hit and the great sound and feel only add to that experience.

PING G410 CROSSOVER REVIEW

Technology

The PING G410 crossover hybrid irons are designed to be a long game option for golfers who prefer the look of an iron. Multi-material construction uses a high-strength maraging steel face attached to a stainless steel body for maximum launch and ball speed. A 30-gram tungsten weight in the toe offsets the smaller blade size to expand perimeter weighting, increasing forgiveness and stability. A unique internal rib structure stiffens the body of the club to ensure solid feel and sound.

Who It’s For

PING G410 crossover hybrid irons are an ideal long game option for golfers who want more distance and forgiveness but prefer the look of their irons. High swing speed players who are looking to replace a hybrid will enjoy these clubs, as well as a more more moderate swing speed golfer who has trouble getting their long irons up in the air.

Performance

When testing the PING G410 Crossover, we saw performance that will please golfers who like to play long irons. We noted an average of 185.5 yards with a launch angle of 16.6 degrees and ball speed around 122 miles per hour. With a peak height of around 30 yards, there was plenty of launch for a soft landing if you might be hitting this type of club into a green.

Appearance

Just like the irons, the PING G410 Crossover features PING’s signature Hydropearl finish. They are also shorter and more compact when compared to the previous G400 Crossover. Golfers who like an iron look at address will appreciate the way this golf club looks down by the ball.

Feel & Sound

The sound and feel of the PING G410 Crossover was great and incredibly responsive. Both elements provided plenty of feedback while feeling solid when you make contact with the ball.

G400’s are the best I’ve ever hit!! I can’t imagine the 410’s could be better, but if they are, all other club companies better be prepared to see some negative growth numbers.
