PING PLD Milled Putters Review by TGW
Technology
Every PING PLD putter is milled from a solid block of 303 stainless steel. The precise shaping of every surface and radius to achieve the high quality and premium look expected in a precision-milled putter takes more than 4 hours of milling time.
A precision-milled face pattern, known as deep AMP (Aggressive Milling Pattern), is inspired by feedback from PING Tour players. The goal of the solid milled face is to provide the feel and speed control you need to deliver score-lowering consistency on the green.
Each design incorporates PING’s proven perimeter-weighting to deliver forgiveness and control for more accuracy where it counts.
Performance
We tested the PING PLP Milled putters with the help of Rick Hatfield. Rick is the Master Fitter and TGW and our resident product expert. Our putter testing was conducted indoors at the TGW Wichita Pure Performance Center equipped with ForeSight sports launch monitors.
Rick found that these putters easily set up square to the target with a simplified look down by the ball. Striking the golf ball was pleasing with a soft feel. He truly appreciated that softer feel as well as the accuracy and ease of alignment. These golf clubs play like the classic putters that helped PING make its name.
Who It’s For
PING PLD putters are made for golfers who value premium construction and materials to make the best-feeling, most accurate putters possible. These putters are also a great fit for golfers who prefer a soft-feeling putter.
For players with a slight arc to their putting stroke, the Anser, Anser 2D, and Oslo 3 models are the best choice. If you take the putter straight-back and straight-through in your putting stroke, then check out the face-balanced and DS72 model. Finally, for golfers with a strong natural arc to their putting stroke, PING made the all-neew Ally Blue 4 mallet just for you.
Appearance
The PING 2024 PLD Milled putters come in 5 different models with unique looks, shapes, and a gunmetal finish.

- The PING DS72 is a mid-mallet inspired by multiple-time Tour winner Viktor Hovland and clean lines with perpendicular and parallel visuals to simplify alignment..
- The PING Oslo 3 is a Tyrrell-hatton-influenced mallet with an Anser 3-style hosel to make it a slight arc putter.
- The new PING Ally Blue 4 putter is a fully machined, three-piece design with an aluminum body, aluminum hosel, and stainless steel solepalte for high MOI designed for strong arc putting strokes.
