One of the most used features is touch-targeting, which allows golfers to touch an area on the hole for a yardage reading. This helps a golfer decide whether to lay up or try to out-drive a hazard. Finally, the course view also provides a pin-pointer feature to help golfers position toward the pin on all types of blind shots.
Swing Strength and Tempo Trainer
The Garmin S6 is also outfitted with features to record swing strength and even a tempo trainer, too, helping to gauge the speed of a swing and the relationship between an upswing and downswing. Ultimately, this information helps produce a consistent swing with each club. Golfers simply enter the club they’re using and the strength recorder will provide a percentage that indicates how fast the golfer is swinging the club. Meanwhile, the tempo trainer features audible tones for an optimal 3:1 swing ratio. These results can be synchronized with the app to identify any trends and help fine-tune swing mechanics.
