Technology

Every Mizuno T22 wedge is forged in the iconic facility in Hiroshima, Japan where Mizuno irons have been made since 1968. They are forged from a single piece using the famous Grain Flow Forged HD Boron process. During construction, each wedge gets a microlayer of copper built in underneath the Nickel Chrome to make the T22 wedges feel even softer and giving golfers a millisecond more control at impact.

Quad Cut Milled grooves are loft-specific and milled directly into the Boron-infused steel for maximum spin that lasts longer throughout the life of the wedge. Mizuno’s HydroFlow Micro Grooves are also laser-etched into the club face to release moisture and maintain spin in wet conditions.

Mizuno T22 wedges are available in 4 different grinds. Each one offers a different performance matched with different lofts to fit every swing type and turf condition. Here is a quick explainer of the Mizuno T22 wedge grinds:

  • S-Grind: Minimal sole grind for full shots and lower-lofted wedges, fits the majority of golfers for most wedge shots
  • D-Grind: Moderate heel and toe relief, allows for some manipulation of the club face for tighter lies and golfers that want to open the face up around the green
  • C-Grind: Heavy heel and toe relief fit for more skilled golfers on firmer conditions to manipulate the face
  • X-Grind: Extreme relief in the heel, toe, and trailing edge for the true short game artists

Finally, Mizuno uses their spin weighted blade design to offer the most precise performance from every wedge. By flaring or tapering the upper portion of the blade, the T22 creates a higher, more consistent spin and a more penetrating trajectory.

Appearance

Mizuno T22 wedges feature a slightly more compact profile with an extensively bevelled top edge to create the appearance of a thinner edge.

Who It’s For

The Mizuno T22 wedges are best fit for lower handicap or more skilled golfers who want maximum control and soft feel around the greens. The thin, compact design fits the eye of skilled shot makers.
