Mizuno T-22 Wedges Review by TGW
Technology
Mizuno T-22 wedges are made using their Grain Flow Forged HD process in Hiroshima, Japan where Mizuno irons have been made since 1968. Made from 1025 Boron, these golf clubs are incredibly soft and responsive with the feel Mizuno is known for. The quad cut grooves last longer and provide the performance you need specific to the loft of your wedges. Stronger lofts feature grooves better suited for full shots while the weaker lofts feature grooves better suited for partial shots as you near the green.
Hydroflow micro grooves utilize a vertical milling pattern that works like the directional tread on a tire. The micro grooves allow water to channel up the face instead of getting trapped between the ball and face for better spin in wet conditions.
The T-22 wedges feature 4 different sole grind options so every golfer can find the performance that matches the way they play.
- The S grind features minimal relief, utilized on lower lofts and best fit for full wedge shots.
- The D grind features moderate heel and toe relief, allowing for gentle manipulation of the club face.
- The C grind has heavier heel and toe relief, best fit for more skilled golfers who manipulate face and firmer conditions.
- The X grind is made with extreme heel, toe, and trailing edge relief, designed for true short game artists who need maximum control and manipulation around the greens.
Mizuno also added a micro-layer of soft copper underneath the nickel chrome. The result is an extra soft feel and added control around the greens.

Who It’s For
Mizuno T-22 wedges are made to fit most golfers on the course with additional grind options for players who like to manipulate the face, create their shot around the green, and prefer a traditional teardrop shape at address.

The Mizuno T-22 wedges have a flow-tapered blade and refined teardrop shape. By flaring or tapering the upper portion of the blade, the T-22 wedges have a higher consistent spin rate and a more penetrating trajectory.
