Mizuno has a new family of metalwoods focused on providing speed and stability for all types of golfers. With 3 driver options as well as a fairway wood and a hybrid, this complete lineup of metalwoods continue to deliver the fastest ball speeds, utilizing a Beta Titanium face. Read all about the latest design in TGW’s Mizuno ST 230 golf clubs review.
Technology
All of the Mizuno ST 230 golf clubs feature the new CORTECH Chamber. This chamber is located on the sole adjacent to the face and filled with an elastomeric material with an inserted weight. All together, this design helps create a larger COR area, improved spin performance, and fine-tuned sound at impact.
Mizuno also includes their signature multi-thickness CORTECH face. Made from beta titanium, the face is stronger and more flexible to allow for an overall thinner face and more spring-back for explosive impact, boosting ball speed near the legal limit all over the club face.
The ST 230 fairway woods and hybrids feature a thinner MAS1C maraging steel face. Advanced through computer simulation and optimization, this face provides faster ball speeds with MIzuno’s thinnest club face to date.
In the Mizuno ST-Z 230 driver, the center of gravity is positioned further back in the head along the neutral Z-axis for a low spin, straight trajectory with launch stability. The ST-X 230 driver has a deeper center of gravity and shorter center of gravity distance along the X-axis for greater workability in both directions with launch stability and higher launch.
Every ST 230 metal wood includes Mizuno’s Quick Switch adjustable hosel, allowing for 4° of loft adjustability to fine-tune your preferred address look and trajectory.
Who It’s For
The Mizuno ST-Z 230 driver has a full 460cc volume that is pushed slightly lower to the ground for a lower sweet spot and low-to-mid spin performance. At address, ST-Z lines up square to slightly open in the standard setting, the ideal look at performance that more skilled golfers prefer.
The Mizuno ST-X 230 driver also has a full 460cc volume that sits up a bit taller and deeper. At address, ST-X lines up square to slightly closed in the standard setting with a more rounded profile for the game improvement player.
The Mizuno ST-X 230 PLTNM driver is similar in technology and profile to the ST-X 230 but features lighter components and a slightly longer length for moderate swing speed players who need to swing it faster without swinging harder.
The ST-Z 230 fairway woods and hybrids are built for distance, low spin performance, and versatility that all golfers can benefit from in their long game.
Appearance
Mizuno’s ST 230 metalwoods feature a classic black look for golfers who like a traditional appearance. This helps limit distractions down by the golf ball so you can focus on making your best swing every time. Some blue accents on the sole provide that signature touch of class Mizuno is known for.
Feel & Sound
Like golfers have come to expect from Mizuno’s golf clubs, the ST 230 metalwoods feels and sounds outstanding when you hit the golf ball with a pleasing, responsive performance.
