Cobra LTDx Hybrids Review by TGW
Technology
Cobra LTDx hybrids are their fastest, most forgiving yet thanks to PWR-COR Technology. A PWR-COR weighting system consisting of mass low and forward to combine low spin with faster ball speed for maximized distance.
Also new in this year’s fairways is the H.O.T Face Technology. H.O.T stands for Highly Optimized Topology. This unique design uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to create Cobra’s hottest club face. It utilizes 15 HOT zones with strategic thicknesses to increase the smash factor and ball speed across a wider area of the face.
Cobra’s signature Baffler Rails are included for even smoother, more versatile performance. By placing two sole rails on the bottom of the club, the LTDx hybrids glide through tight lies, thick rough, and even bunkers to put you in a position to shoot lower scores.
Finally, Cobra gave the LTDx hybrids a PWRSHELL Face Cup. A forged face cup is designed to increase flex across the face and the sole for faster ball speed and higher launch.
Performance
We tested the Cobra LTDx hybrids with the help of Rick Hatfield. Rick is TGW’s Master Fitter and our resident product expert. Our hybrid golf club testing was conducted indoors at the TGW Pure Performance Center using Foresight Sports launch monitors with a 21° 4 hybrid model.
Rick’s average swing speed during this test was 93 mph which is a little faster than his normal hybrid swing. His ball speed average was higher at 131 mph. Rick averaged a 14.8° launch angle, matched with a spin rate of 3,702 rpm. That is low enough spin to hit the fairway and roll out for added distance but enough spin with a high enough ball flight to hold a green. Overall, Rick averaged 205 yards of carry distance.
Who It’s For
