Cobra King Vintage Putters Review by TGW
Technology
The Cobra King Vintage putters are made from 304 stainless steel. There are 7 different King Vintage models from classic bladers to larger mallets that offer alignment and weighting options to fit every golfer.
Every putter in the Vintage family features a unique aluminum face insert. Developed by SIK Golf, this proprietary design is called Descending Loft Technology. Four different flat surfaces are milled into the face insert. Each plane decreases in loft as you go down the club face, starting with 4° loft and the top and 1° of loft at the bottom. This design helps keep roll consistent no matter how you putt the golf ball. If you make impact with forward shaft lean, the higher-lofted sections contact the ball to prevent skidding. If you make impact with the shaft leaning back, the lower lofted sections contact the ball to prevent it from going airborne.
Adjustable sole weights in every Cobra King Vintage putter allow you to create a heavier feeling golf club. Standard weights are 10 grams while heavier weights are available separately.
Each putter is also equipped with a Lamkin Smart Grip. An embedded sensor in the end of the grip tracks your putting statistics and syncs to your smart device via the Arccos Caddie app. There you can review your performance and improve your game by knowing where you can benefit from more practice.
Performance
We tested the Cobra King Vintage putters with the help of Rick Hatfield. Rick is TGW’s master fitter and resident product expert. Rick felt that these putts offered a smooth, consistent performance on every putt. The Descending Loft Technology included in the face insert kept putts rolling smoothly no matter what his impact angle was. Rick also commented on the solid sound and feel as well as balanced weighing in each putter made them feel great on the greens.

Appearance
The Cobra King Vintage putters feature a black finish on a stainless steel body that provides these golf clubs with a classic look. A variety of alignment lines stick out to each golfer’s eye to help them set up to their target however they prefer. These putters set up square to the ball easily and help you pick out your target line at address.
Feel & Sound
Made with a stainless steel body, the Cobra King Vintage putters do resonate with sound and feel at impact. It is a firmer experience with more feedback when you putt with these golf clubs. The sound is a solid click that lets you know you struck your putt pure.

I have a Cobra Perth II putter that I purchased in 2002/2003. I love it and can’t really see me putting another putter in the bag. I just wish i could buy a new cover for it. But, if I see the new Cobra Putters in a store or pro shop, I will certainly give them a look. I think the only putter that could replace my Cobra is another Cobra.
I picked one up and it is very nice. It won’t fix misdirection(ha ha) but it is extremely predictable. I have the traditional shape and have adapted to it well. Feel is great and as mentioned, it is difficult to misfit it on the face. Yes the feel is very slightly better with an even higher end putter but the loft cures common misfit problems and is the winning combination in my opinion.
