Cobra King 3DP Putters Review by TGW
Technology
The Cobra King 3DP putters feature a multi-material construction for optimized performance. They start with a steel frame then add a 3D-printed nylon lattice insert to save weight in the body. An aluminum cap and tungsten weights in the perimeter finish things off to boost MOI and fine-tune the weighting and feel of each putter shape.
By using 3D printing to create the nylon lattice structure in the body, Cobra saves more weight in the middle of the club head. This allows them to add weight to the heel and toe areas with heavier tungsten to create a more stable performance, especially on those putts where you don’t hit the exact center of the club face.
Cobra’s King 3DP putters also utilize an aluminum face insert developed by SIK Golf. This insert is made with SIK’s proprietary Descending Loft Technology. Four different flat surfaces are milled into the face insert. Each plane decreases in loft as you go down the club face, starting with 4° loft and the top and 1° of loft at the bottom. This design helps keep the roll consistent no matter how you putt the golf ball. If you make impact with forward shaft lean, the higher-lofted sections contact the ball to prevent skidding. If you make impact with the shaft leaning back, the lower lofted sections contact the ball to prevent it from going airborne.
Each Cobra putter also comes equipped with a Lamkin Smart Grip. An embedded sensor in the end of the grip tracks your putting statistics and syncs to your smart device via the Arccos Caddie app. There you can review your performance and improve your game by knowing where you can benefit from more practice.
Performance
We tested the Cobra King 3DP putters with the help of Rick Hatfield. Rick is TGW’s Master Fitter and resident product expert. He described these putters as extremely solid and stable. The high-MOI design with perimeter tungsten weights helped keep putts from losing accuracy when hit near the heel or toe. The Descending Loft Technology included in the face insert kept putts rolling smoothly no matter what his impact angle was. These putters also feel softer for players who like a more muted insert putter face.

Appearance
The Cobra King 3DP putters feature a black and silver color that provides these golf clubs with a classic look. Each of the 5 models uses the 3D-printed structure in a different way that is visible in the body of the putter. A variety of alignment lines stick out to each golfer’s eye to help them set up to their target however they prefer. These putters set up square to the ball easily and help you pick out your target line at address.
Feel & Sound
Thanks to the stainless steel body, the Cobra King 3DP putters do resonate with a solid sound and feel at impact. It is a firmer experience with more feedback when you putt with these golf clubs. The sound is a little bit more muted thanks to the multi-material construction and they feel stable, resisting twisting even on mis-hits.
