Technology
Cleveland creates every HB Soft Milled putter with the goal of reducing cost and waste. That’s why they only mill the parts of the putter that matter the most. They start by casting each putter head from molten steel. Then they CNC mill the face and back for consistent feel and performance as well as a great look at address. The sole of each putter is hand-polished to exact tolerances. Finally, they put in the paint fill and finishing touches to make each putter perfect.
HB Soft Milled putters have a special face-milled pattern that is a Cleveland signature called Speed Optimized Face Technology (SOFT). SOFT normalizes ball speed across the face. That means, no matter where you strike your putt, you get consistent speed and consistent distance. That’s how SOFT ensures you never miss short because of an off-center strike.
Cleveland also created a unique alignment system to fit the preferred look of every golfer. The 10 HB Soft Milled putter models are split up into 3 different alignment categories:
- Traditional Feel Alignment: simple, low-contrast design, made for Feel players to focus on their putting stroke with no distractions on shapes #1 and #4
- High Contrast Arc Alignment: more contrast for clarity at address with a single alignment line that flows with an arcing putting stroke on shapes #5, #8P, #10.5S, and #11S
- High Contrast Straight Alignment: three-line system helps keep your putter on track for straight-back, straight-through putting strokes on shapes #8, #10.5C, #11, and #14

The slight arc putters come with a Golf Pride PRO ONLY Red Star putter grip. This grip has a Tour-preferred pistol shape with an arched paddle front for consistent thumb positioning. It’s designed to help your hands turn the putter over through the stroke to facilitate a naturally arcing stroke path.
The straight stroke putters come with a Golf Pride PRO ONLY Green Star putter grip. This grip has a rounded, oval-back shape for comfortable hand positioning. Its slightly arched paddle front encourages consistent thumb placement. This slightly larger grip keeps the hands quiet through your stroke, so your putter face stays square.
