Cleveland Golf has a new wedge featuring grooves across the entire face to be more versatile and make difficult shots around the green easier. The CBX Full Face wedge is made to maximize versatility and add forgiveness by creating a larger impact area. By taking their signature Rotex Face Milling across the entire face, these golf wedges are made to give you even more spin and unmatched stopping power.

Cleveland CBX Full Face Wedges Review
Technology
The story of the Cleveland CBX Full Face wedges begins with the unique design of the club face. By using their Rotex and Laser milling with Tour Zip grooves to cover every part of the hitting surface, Cleveland gives these wedges maximum spin and maximum versatility no matter where on the club face you hit the golf ball. The signature Rotex milling process produces aggressive bite on the ball and allows for even sharper grooves which mean incredible spin and maximum control for the golfer.
Another feature that expands the hitting area even further is the high-toe profile. CBX Full Face wedges have an extended toe section with milling all the way up the toe. This design allows golfers to hit shots around the green by opening the club face all the way, sliding under the golf ball, and hitting it out on the toe. To further make those open-face shots more effective, Cleveland included their lowest C-shaped sole grind to date. The C-shape adds relief in the heel and toe so golfers can manipulate the club face any way they need.
Finally, Cleveland combined two design elements to complete the CBX Full Face wedges. They put a cavity back near the heel of the club with a solid muscle back out on the toe to move the sweet spot right where golfers are most likely to hit the ball. Aligning the sweet spot with the most likely impact location offers better feel, more forgiveness, and greater control. Moving the center of gravity away from the heel makes the higher toe more effective since golfers will strike the ball farther out on the face.

Cleveland CBX Full Face wedges are ideal for all golfers who are looking for more control in their short game. The design of the wedge allows you to manipulate the face and hit any type of shot you need while the grooves all the way across and the higher toe give you more effective hitting area. Even if you don’t hit every shot square, you will see improved results thanks to the design. These wedges also appeal to more golfers by taking the guesswork out of picking the right bounce or grind. The C-shaped sole grind has a bounce that is specifically matched to each loft so performance is optimized for all golfers right away.
Performance
Hitting these wedges proved to be a lot of fun. When testing the performance of the Cleveland CBX Full Face wedges, we took a two-step approach. First was to note how the club got the ball out of a variety of lies and second was observing how the ball reacted when it hit the green.
With turf interaction, these wedges were appropriate for every condition. These clubs do not have too much bounce so you can open the face up while there is still enough bounce to make clean contact on tight lies. The CBX Full Face wedges performed effectively in all types of lies we tested. With the Rotex milling and Tour Zip grooves all over the face, the ball was hitting the green and checking up immediately. The aggressive milling and full-length grooves give plenty of bite on all wedge shots to give you the stopping power you need.
Appearance
Cleveland’s CBX Full Face wedges have a unique look that you won’t find on many wedges. The shape stands out with its high toe and visually it makes you confident in opening up the club face. We also immediately noticed the milling and grooves on every millimeter of the club face. That appearance lets you know you will get the best spin and control no matter where you make contact with the golf ball. They also have a darker finish that cuts down on glare at address.
Feel & Sound
The Cleveland CBX Full Face wedges offer a pleasing sound and feel that is comparable to other wedges on the market today. They offer a soft feel at impact with great feedback so you can control your wedge shots around the green.
