Technology

Callaway’s Rogue ST hybrids feature a new version of their signature Jailbreak Speed Frame technology. Using artificial intelligence to get the design just right, the patented Jailbreak ST system now uses two batwing structures pushed out to the perimeter of the club head. This design provides stiffness in the club head while allowing the club face to flex even more, resulting in higher ball speeds when you hit the golf ball.

Callaway utilizes their A.I. Flash Face Cup in the Rogue ST hybrids. Made from super-strong 455 stainless steel steel, the Flash Face Cup provides speed and spin consistency all across the club face with a unique face pattern specific to each model and loft in the lineup.

Finally, a unique amount of precision tungsten weight is placed in each model to precisely locate the center of gravity. The result is optimal launch with even more ball speed.

Performance

We tested the Callaway Rogue ST family of hybrids with the help of Rick Hatfield. Rick is TGW’s Master Fitter and our resident product expert. Our hybrid testing was conducted indoors at the TGW Pure Performance Center using Foresight Sports launch monitors.

First up, Rick tested the Rogue ST Max hybrid. He used the 4 hybrid with a loft of 20° and was swinging at an average of 91 mph. His average ball speed was 131 mph which was an impressive number to match his swing speed. Rick’s average launch angle with this golf club was 13° to go along with an average spin rate of 3,255 rpm. Overall, Rick hit this club for an average of 209 yards of carry distance, a whopping 10-15 yards more than he expected to hit a club of this loft.

Then Rick hit the Rogue ST Max OS hybrid. This is the oversized model made to be even more forgiving. Rick again used the 4 hybrid, this one with a loft of 21°. His average swing speed was 91 mph which produced and average ball speed of 130 mph. He average a launch angle of 16° to go along with a spin rate of 3,519 rpm. All together, Rick averaged 206 yards of carry distance with a high flight and steep descent that would have no problem holding most greens.

Who It’s For

The Callaway Rogue ST Max hybrid is Callaway’s longest hybrid yet and is made to be an all-around performer. These golf clubs are built with strong lofts for complete performance with speed, forgiveness, and distance to fit all golfers.

The Callaway Rogue ST MAX OS hybrid features an oversized head shape for more forgiveness and draw bias when compared to the standard model. It is also available in Callaway’s widest range of lofts.

The Callaway Rogue ST MAX OS Lite hybrid features an oversized head shape as well as lighter components and swing weights when compared to the rest of the Callaway Rogue ST hybrids to fit game improvement golfers with more moderate swing speeds.

The Callaway Rogue ST Pro hybrid is geared toward the better player. It is shaped like a more compact fairway wood when compared to the other Rogue ST hybrids with a more shallow face and neutral center of gravity, making it the most workable option in the lineup.

Appearance

Callaway’s Rogue ST lineup of hybrids features a sleek black appearance. Similar to some previous models, the mostly black color scheme is offset with gold accents both on the crown and on the sole. These golf clubs are made to look fast and match their performance all over the golf course.
