Callaway has a new wedge that takes their Jaws groove design to a new level. This is the Callaway Jaws Full Toe wedge. Technology

The Jaws Full Toe wedge starts with the Jaws groove design with groove-in-groove technology. Callaway’s Jaws groove design is sharper than ever with a 37° wall angle to maximum spin from all types of lies. The Jaws wedges also feature their signature Groove-in-Groove Technology, using milled micro-positive grooves on the flat parts of the face between the grooves to add surface roughness. Callaway also added a new raw face that will oxidize over time and use to generate even more spin through greater friction.

Callaway Jaws Full Toe Wedge Face

The new full toe shape offers more face area to make short shots around the green easier to hit. This is especially helpful on shots where you need to open the club face or even need to try to hit the golf ball off the toe. It also pushes the center of gravity higher to create a lower, more controlled trajectory.

Callaways also developed a specialized C-Grind specifically for this wedge. The C-Grind features reduced bounce, a wider middle section, and more heel relief which works well on tight lies, firm turf, and medium to shallow angles of attack. This sole shape delivers the ideal turf interaction on tight lies and shots hit with an open face.

Finally, Callaway utilized another signature design, the Variable Weight Port System. The Variable Weight Port System locates the center of gravity higher and away from the heel for solid contact and enhanced feel on every shot.

Performance

We put the Callaway Jaws Full Toe wedge to the test with Rick Hatfield, TGW’s Master Fitter and resident product expert. To best measure the spin performance of wedges, Rick likes to hit a half-shot from 40 to 45 yards away from the green. He feels this gives us the most accurate spin readings as all wedges will performance similarly on full swings. Using a 56° wedge, Rick’s average spin rate was between 6,500 and 7,000 rpm so he had ample spin and control to get the ball near the hole in the short game.

Who It’s For

Callaway Jaws Full Toe wedges are made to fit a wide range of golfers from low to higher mid-handicap players. The versatility and consistent performance along with maximum spin benefits all golfers. Players who want control and precision close around the greens and from tight lies with a great-feeling wedge will be drawn to the Jaws Full Toe wedge.

Appearance

The Callaway Jaws Full Toe wedge features a traditional wedge shape with a higher toe. These wedges feature the same thin lines and traditional blade style body with the added higher, rounder toe. Callaway also offers this wedge in two different finishes: a sleek black finish and a more traditional chrome finish.

Feel & Sound

The Callaway Jaws Full Toe wedge features a soft, muted sound while being more solid than previous Jaws wedges. They also feel great and glide through the turf with smooth interaction with no extra digging.
