Callaway has a new way to practice your chipping and improve your short game. This is the Callaway Chip Stix training aid. Its simple, effective design helps eliminate some of the most common swing faults when it comes to chipping and pitching, making it one of the best training aids for chipping. TGW’s review team shows you how it works.
How To Use The Callaway Chip Stix Golf Training Aid
Many players struggle with their higher lofted clubs around the greens by trying to scoop or flip the ball up off the ground. This causes golfers to use their arms, wrists, and hands too much which usually results in contact low on the club face. Hitting the ball too low on the face with your wedges greatly reduces spin and accuracy. That type of casting motion also causes the club head speed and distance control to suffer.
The Callaway Chip Stix golf training aid fits right over the butt end of the grip on any of your wedges. As you set up to the golf ball and make your swing, the goal is to keep the extension of the Chip Stix away from the body and off of your side. This motion helps you make a more linear swing with both ends of the club moving in the same direction on the same plane.
When you are able to keep the Chip Stix from contacting your side, you will notice the ball comes off the club face at a higher point. This imparts more spin on the ball and helps you better control the distances of your chips and pitches. That means more accuracy, more consistency, and lower scores once you get used to the groove of making a proper short game swing.
