During an 18-month process, adidas set out to create a successor to their popular Tour360 XT spiked golf shoe that was lighter than ever. Succeeding in this endeavor was so important that they let it guide the name of this new shoe. This is the adidas ZG21 golf shoe. The ZG stands for Zero Gravity. That is how light this new shoe is. Technology
The adidas ZG21 golf shoes are incredibly lightweight. They weigh in at just 13 oz. per shoe. That does not mean adidas sacrificed technology in this design. They just had to get innovative. adidas used their new Lightstrike cushioning which is 40% lighter than traditional EVA materials. Lightstrike is lightweight and responsive, absorbing shock and recovering quickly to cushion every step.
The ZG21 shoes also feature adidas’s signature Boost Foam. Boost Foam is super-responsive and returns more energy in each step to reduce fatigue and cushion your feet.
Four layers of polyurethane material combine to create the Sprintskin uppers of the ZG21 golf shoes. The polyurethane in the upper is created using recycled material. Seeking to end plastic waste, 20% of the pieces used in the upper are made with a minimum of 50% recycled content. This material is lightweight and waterproof. They are suitable for wear in any weather and come with a one-year waterproof warranty.
Finally, adidas paired all this lightweight comfort and cushioning with the performance of a spiked golf shoe. The Thintech TPU outsole is sturdy and durable. It features 6 replaceable PINS spikes that provide traction on all types of terrain. Inside the shoe is an INSITE sock liner that provides greater fit and balance. It is also removable.
Appearance
adidas ZG21 golf shoes combine the signature athletic style of adidas with classic golf shoe features. The 3-Stripes branding makes an appearance on the side of the sleek uppers. You also notice the foam running through the midsole that provides the energy return and lightweight cushioning you need. The outside of the shoe also has a Stability Fin in the midsole that is visible. This feature increases lateral stability while helping keep the shoe lighter in weight. The adidas ZG21 golf shoes are available in 4 colors to match any style and wardrobe.
Fit & Feel
The fit and feel of the adidas ZG21 golf shoes are best described as lightweight and responsive. They don’t weigh your feet down and you can feel the foam cushioning your feet with each step. adidas has perfected the use of the foams in the midsole with spiked outsoles to give you the lightweight comfort of a spikeless shoe and the traction of a spiked model. These shoes run true to size, but for golfers who want an even more exact fit, the ZG21 shoes are available with the Boa Closure System so you can dial in your preferred fit and never have to adjust it.
