PING Mens i500 Irons Black Standard Utility Wedge UST Recoil 780 ES SMAC is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 75.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Look = Blade; Performance = SGI I have played four rounds since buying these irons and had my lowest scores in five years. In that time i have had two hip replacements and saw my hcp rise from a 9.7 up to a 14.9. I know that it's the archer and not the arrow but, the consistency and plus 1.5 clubs distance had me at close to a personal best ever round before plus 6 on my last four holes gave me an 82. My weakness for a blade-like look has probably resulted in choices in irons that i was not skilled enough to play consistently well with, until now!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great irons! i500 Irons Elevated My Game! I’ve played with these clubs for 4 months. I play an average of 3 times per week. I went to a Ping Demo Day and had my clubs and shafts tailored to fit me. I am extremely happy with these clubs. I have gained at least 10 to 20 yards with each of my irons. Ex. My old 9 iron was my 100y club. Now, I hit my i500 9 iron 125y - 130y. I think these clubs will better fit a mid-level to low handicap golfer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic! I've aged and finally was able to pick up about 1 club length per stick with the I500's. Same goes for the G410 Plus Driver, 3 wood and 5 wood only more than a club with the woods.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Greatest Irons I've Ever Played I purchased these after a fitting from my local Pro at Sugarwood Golf Club in WV. When I scheduled my fitting, I had no intenttion of purchasing Ping irons at all. After hitting the P790, Apex forged, and AP3, I tried the Ping. The feel was like no other club. The ball exploded off the face, and the high flight with the 105 True Temper Shafts, caused the ball to land soft. Really happy with my purchase, and suggest to go hit these clubs, and make sure you are fit by a pro; don't guess.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love The sound I bought these clubs in October and when you hit the 3 iron it sounds just like a wood and everyone on the range turns around wondering what you are hitting, Ping are very good with delivery even though there was a set back in date of arrival. The only downside was that when I ordered the glide wedges they gave me the midsize grips instead of standard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbelievable! Exactly what I’ve been waiting for. I bought these hours in December I absolutely love them. Now that the weather is warm and I’m getting to play more they're everything I’ve been wanting. Distance, playability, everything you hit the mark unbelievable! The forged wedges are awesome too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Choice VERY HAPPY Had the clubs about a month now. Tested similar player distance irons, the distances were the same but shot dispersion was much tighter. Was concerned about reviews, particularly around build quality but before I pulled trigger I spoke with Ping service and they assured me this was a problem early in production and not to worry, if any problems arise they would take care of Green dot, 1/4 inch long, KBS tour 120 shafts. Clubs are dynamite. 4 and 5 irons are absolute rockets. As for sound, doesn’t really bother me however the only iron that sounds “clicky” is 4 iron. As for workability you can certainly flight the ball however you like. They do not curve as much as other irons and that’s fine by me. They are labeled as “players distance irons” so if you have trouble finding the middle of club face you will loose some distance. The build quality has been a none issue. They look amazing. I do keep the iron head covers on them when in trunk of car. I could not be happier with these clubs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great distance improvement. Great clubs After getting fit last October I bought a set (5 - UW red dot) with aerotech steelfiber shafts and the powerspec option. I have over 20 rounds with them now and I have gained between 1 amd 2 clubs. They look great and feel great with the steelfiber shafts. I traded in a set of Ping I-E1s with steel shafts. It did take me a few rounds to get used to new distances and the feel of new shafts. I have played Ping irons since I started playing golf and these live up to the standards I have come to expect from Ping. Do yourself a favor, get fitted by a trained clubfitter and these a try if you are looking for a combination of look and distance.

What color code for ping i500 would you need if you hit a draw mostly?

Asked by: Rickvlda
Mainly clubs that are too upright may cause a golfer to draw, hook or pull the ball; while clubs that are too flat may cause the golfer to fade, slice or push the ball. We would recommend being fitted by a local golf professional or golf pro-shop to establish the most effective color code for your game.
