Rated 3 out of 5 by from Word of Warning I treated myself by upgrading to the G700s from my old G10 set of irons. Great looking club and I do feel as though the game improvement properties are accurately reported. The down side is the choice of finish Ping have used on this line of club. The previous reviews do reflect how easily they get marked in a short space of time. The clubs are 8 weeks old and have been used to play about 20 rounds. I have had to send the clubs away to address apparent rust spots on the majority of the club faces. I have been advised by my club professionals that leaving head covers on the clubs in between rounds was the route cause as the residual moisture affecting the finish. This did not happen with the G10 line over 8 years. The clubs have been returned to me refurbished free of charge so time will tell if this was the issue or if the finish is woefully substandard for such an expensive line of club.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Irons In less than 6 months the irons look like they are years old. Huge variance in distance with the same club. 9 iron for me is typically 140 yards. I often hit the same 9 iron 155 yards. Can’t play golf with this much disparity in distance. Literally the worst set of iron I’ve ever purchased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never has an Iron been so easy to hit. After having ping clubs throughout 24 years of playing golf I started with isiK irons, ping eye 3 blades, K15s and I hit my first G700s on.tne range. To be honest I had decided to buy them before the ball landing. I bought 6-sw and the confidence is sky high. Im thinking of spelling my G series Hybrid with either another G700 5 iron or a 5 crossover. I recommend these to everyone. Im also trying to get my father (he has only had Ping irons and woods since the illegal eye 2s. Also the crew at Takapuna Golf were anazing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best I’ve had Bought this over 4 months ago and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made. Perfect feel and very forgiving. Mishits don’t feel bad, they don’t “hurt”. Good hits feel like the ball pops from the club face on impact, like it explodes on contact. It added 10-15 yards to my distance and I’ve had to adjust my club selection at least 1 club down (e.g. I use a 7 where I previously used a 6). Tried out standard steel, zelos 6 steel, & graphite shafts, and all were good given the excellence of the club head, but I would recommend Zelos 6 steel shafts if you want the best of both worlds between steel and graphite- they are light but give better control. Only two “downsides”, but for me negligible: (1) it’s a bit pricy, but I believe in value for money so this is a bargain for the benefits you get. (2) it gets scratched easily, but again, this is superficial & something you can overlook given the great benefits you get.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing distance and loft difference. I've had these for 2+ months and all I can say Every iron is at least 15-20 yards longer than my previous Ping G irons. I don't hit my irons long to begin with. Typically I hit a 7 iron about 120. I'm now hitting it 140-150. I can now actually hit a 5 iron. I hit my 5 iron 180 the other day....simply astounding...and straight too. Love these clubs. I finally had these clubs professionally fitted for my swing. Previously I used black dot but now I'm fitted for orange dot which may have made the difference. I haven't experienced issues with the finish of the clubs as others have stated. Time will tell I guess but irons in Arizona don't hold up well anyway.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a Ping look or feel I have played Pings for 40 years and in my opinion do not feel, look or perform like a Ping Irons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Improved my game immediately Bought these irons over 2 months ago. Ball definitely goes higher and straighter than my previous G25s. Not sure it goes any further but definitely better control and feel. Have used them practically everyday and have had no problem with the finish as previous reviews have mentioned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the performance; Finish is lacking I went for a fitting in April and the G700's won out. With the stock Alta and AWT shafts the performance was no better than the irons I had been playing. Once the fitter had me try the Nippon Modus 105 shaft I immediately gained 7 yds of distance, with a higher ball speed, higher ball flight, more spin and better dispersion. Best of all the Modus 105 is included as an option with no additional cost per club. These clubs lived up to the fitting throughout the season and I gained about 5-7 yds over my old irons with similar loft specs. My only knock is the finish. As others reviews have mentioned, the hydropearl finish marks up badly. On a golf forum I frequent, some G400 users experiencing the same issue, mentioned trying to rub the irons with a green scotch brite pad and some Barkeeper's Friend polish. The polish never did anything but the pad helped. Here are some before and after pictures I took.
