Q & A

TaylorMade Men's M5 Driver

  • The TaylorMade M5 driver ushers in a new era of personalized performance with incredible Speed Injected performance.
  • Every club head is individually tested and then goes through the Speed Injection process where a tuning resin is injected through two ports on the face to achieve performance at or near the legal limit of COR.
  • Twist Face Technology is back for 2019, utilizing a revolutionary face curvature designed to reduce side spin and correct the face angle on off-center hits to deliver straighter shots off the tee.
  • A new Inverse T-Track uses two 10-gram weights that can efficiently be moved from front to back and along the perimeter of the club head.
  • The more flexible Hammerhead 2.0 slot works with the Speed Injected Twist Face to produce a larger sweet spot and protect ball speed on off-center contact.
  • TaylorMade's M5 driver is ideal for golfers who want to adjust and personalize the performance of the club along with the ability to shape their shot off the tee without sacrificing ball speed.

Speed Injected

Every M5 driver is individually tested and then injected with tuning resin to optimize the COR across the entire club face, maximizing ball speed and distance with performance that is at or near the legal limit.

Twist Face

Twist Face

The unique curvature in the M5 club face adds loft in the high toe area and reduces loft in the low heel area for reduced side spin and straighter shots on contact in the places where golfers most often mis-hit the ball.

Inverse T-Track

Inverse T-Track

Two 10-gram weights move along an inverted T-track, allowing weight to be moved further back along the perimeter of the club to lower the CG and increase forgiveness to fine-tune your preferred launch and shot shape.

Hammerhead 2.0 Slot

Hammerhead 2.0 Slot

The Hammerhead 2.0 slot is more flexible than ever, working with the Speed Injected Twist Face to create a larger sweet spot and maintain high ball speed even on off-center hits.

TaylorMade Mens M5 Driver Mitsubishi Tensei CK Orange 60 is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My driver Love this driver. Feels good through the swing and contact with the ball. The forgiveness is exactly what I needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from straighter drives and distance is longer I have played 5 rounds with this driver and after making a few adjustments with the weights have dialed it in to a very consistant ball flight. My bad drives are just a little shorter than the distance of my good drives and it has kept the ball in the fairway. I really like the sound of the ball coming off of the club face and twist face technology works. I purchased the M5 3 wood at the same time as the driver and it is becoming one of my favorite clubs. When you hit it on the sweet spot it flys nearly as long as the driver.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needed to change Was using slider, losing confidence in driver. So far at range M5 performing great, getting confidence back. Not sure what distance yet but like ball flight, sound, looks, etc.

Does the M5 comes with senior shaft, 50G?

Asked by: Francisco
The closest shaft I see to these specs is the Aldila Quaranta. It is available in senior flex but is in the 40-gram weight class instead of the 50-gram weight class. This shaft is available by using the Enter Custom Specs tab located above the photo of the club.

How do I determine which shaft I need along with flex and loft.

Asked by: Todd
We would recommend being fitted with a professional or local pro shop for best results however, as a general guide, choose a loft to try based on your assessed club-head speed. If it is between 95 and 104 mph, a 10- or 11-degree loft will be appropriate. If it is between 105 and 115 mph, a loft between 7 and 9 degrees should be considered. Here is a shaft flex guide based on swing speed: Senior: 70-80 MPH Regular: 80-90 MPH Stiff: 90-100 MPH X-Stiff: 100 + MPH
