Q & A

TaylorMade Spider Tour Red Putter

Sleek Design, Tour-Proven Roll

The choice for many of the best players in the world, TaylorMade Spider Tour putters are modern mallets that features enhanced perimeter weighting to provide more stability at impact and better performance on mis-hits. They features TaylorMade’s Pure Roll insert, which combines 45-degree grooves and soft polymer to create incredible feel and more topspin, the latter of which gets the ball rolling more quickly for improved distance and speed control. Additionally, there are no sightlines on the crown of the Spider Tour Red putter for players who prefer a completely clean look at address. Also of note, while this is a modern mallet design, the Spider Tour Red is not face balanced like many mallets and actually has 38 degrees of toe hang, which means it will work best for players with a moderate or slight arc in their putting stroke.

TaylorMade Spider Tour Red Putter features:

  • Head Design: Modern Mallet
  • Head Weight: 355 grams
  • Loft: 3.5 degrees
  • Lie Angle: 70 degrees
  • Toe Hang: 38 degrees
  • Offset: Half shaft
  • Length options: 34, 35 inches
  • Grip: Winn Medalist Pistol
  • Pure Roll insert delivers soft feel and more topspin, which reduces skidding
  • Perimeter weighting delivers more stability and forgiveness at impact
  • Removed sightlines for a perfectly clean look at address, which is intended to create more focus
  • Available in right-hand only

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PURE ROLL I have been playing with the spider putter for the last 12-15 rounds. I see a great improvement in the roll off the putter head with the ball staying on line and rolloing true.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great feel; well balanced. To me this putter is much better than my old Scottie Cameron putter. I can judge speed and distance so much better; it gives more confidence.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best... putter... EVER! The worst thing I ever did was pick up this putter and give it a try because it's fit and feel haunted me for months afterward! Sampled plenty of other styles, other brands, and simply nothing compared. Feels effortless and complements my style of putting, which is a little less than conventional. The standard Winn grip size is a little narrow for most people and doesn't size up to the more common chunkier grips, but it suits me well despite using a midsize grip on everything else. And boy, it looks awesome too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Probably the best putter I've ever used Been gaming this for about 2 months now. I also tried the tour black and platinum. I don't like the black insert but the red and platinum I think are both great. Different but great. The tour red insert is a little softer I think. I think the extra little toe flow just fits my stroke a little better than the platinum. Been a Scotty user for 10+ years but sadly no more, the tour red is in the bag to stay...for at least the rest of the season :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Turning Amateurs into Pros I switched to this putter and it hands-down is the best club in my bag now. I've sunk multiple 20+ foot putts that I previously had no business of making until I purchased this putter and par saves are something I never thought I would find out of my putter. I promise it will not disappoint once you find the feel. I can't possibly use any other putter than the Spider Tour

Is there any difference between the Red or Black Spider putter

Asked by: Dennis Jackson
This answer is wrong. The black version has a much firmer face insert compared to the red version. The insert in the black version is 80% aluminum and 20% surlyn. The face insert in the red version is almost 100% surlyn.
