TaylorMade Men's M2 Irons

Real Innovation With Unreal Distance

TaylorMade’s ultimate goal when it came to the M2 iron was to create a club that delivered amazing distance without sacrificing trajectory in an effort to make it easier for recreational players to hit better approach shots. After all, as TaylorMade says, “Distance will get you to the green, but distance and height will help you stay there.” Additionally, the M2 was designed to provide exceptional forgiveness on mis-hits, which will help golfers improve from a consistency standpoint. Make no mistake about it, this is a classic game-improvement iron. However, look and feel were also strongly taken into account from a design standpoint.

Ideal For:

Golfers who are looking for more distance, higher trajectory, and incredible forgiveness. If you lack the swing speed to launch the ball as high as you’d like or simply struggle with inconsistent ball-striking, M2 was designed to help alleviate those issues. This iron would be a great fit for higher- and mid-handicap players, as well as seniors, who are looking to improve their iron play.

Thick-Thin Fluted Hosel

The fluted hosel design allowed engineers to remove weight from the hosel and redistribute it to the sole of the club. This lowered the M2’s CG (center of gravity) to create higher launch angles and faster ball speeds.

Thick-Thin Fluted Hosel

360° Undercut

The Undercut serves dual purposes. First, it removes weight from the topline of the club, which lowers the CG and improves launch. Second, it expands the unsupported area of the clubface to keep ball speeds high on shots struck off the heel or toe.

360 degrees Undercut

Speed Pocket

The flexibility of the Speed Pocket allows for a thinner sole, which also contributes to high launch and faster ball speeds across the face. Additionally, it improves forgiveness on shots struck low on the clubface.

Speed Pocket

Inverted Cone Technology/Thin Face

These two components of the M2 work in unison with the Speed Pocket to maintain higher ball speeds from impact points across the face.

Inverted Cone Technology/Thin Face

3D Sound & Feel System

A 3D Badge System built into the clubhead controls and dampens impact sound and removes vibrations to improve the overall feel of the club.

What They're Saying...

“M2 is really our new flagship iron in terms of performance, for the player who wants the maximum distance, wants a high trajectory, and a lot of forgiveness. This (product) is something we’re really proud of.”

Tomo Bystedt, TaylorMade Senior Director of Global Irons

What Players Like You Are Saying...

“This club was very good. I got a lot of height out of it; the other clubs I use now, I seem to never see much height. This looks like it will really work well for me.”

TGW customer Bob, 18 handicap, live testing at TaylorMade, 3/9/16

“The M2 was just very easy to play, very responsive, and good distance. I loved it.”

TGW customer Neal, 15 handicap, live testing at TaylorMade, 3/9/16

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Improved my Game I just got back into the game after 25 years away this summer. I was using old clubs and getting better. The first time I used this set of Irons, I broke 100.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from M2 Game Improvement I bought these M2 irons about a month ago. I have played stiff steel shafts my whole golf life, but decided at age 66, I was losing too much distance to my playing partners. Since I decided it couldn't POSSIBLY have anything to do with my age, I went to a regular flex. Now, when I remember to keep my stupid head down, I've actually picked back up one full club in distance. The irons line up very nicely, swung smoothly, and feel solid upon impact. They have, so far, been a nice improvement over my Speedblades.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the look and feel These irons have added 12-15 yards to each of clubs. The trajectory is much higher than my old irons and the weight of the clubs are great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these Irons I waited near the end of the season to post a review, and I don't have a bad word to say. I waited because I live in Michigan and I wanted to see how they react in the warmest weather, and they don't disappoint. Very forgiving and, and they just have a great feel. I love TaylorMade products. Not gonna lie, I want the new P-790 Black Irons, but until I decide to pull the trigger, these will be just fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Clubs The long and middle irons are great. Very solid, straight and good distances. Perhaps a little more "game improvement" than I would have liked as they are not very workable. The wedges (P and A) hit long and high but again not terribly workable. I may end up replacing them especially since the P has a relatively low loft, but that is just a personal preference. Throughout the set each club seems equal to the next longer club (i.e. 8 iron of the M2 + traditional 7 iron) for distance and loft.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Research frist! This are great irons for most all golfers for the forgiveness but before you go thinking that they are going to make you superman and hit the ball longer do your research on the loft. The reason I say this is bc alot of people say they hit them longer but I bet they don't know that the loft on these clubs are not the same as older one and maybe other brands. The clubs in your bag may have a pw at 49 degrees but in the m2 that is an AW so now you are hit it the same just labeled different so you think you are hitting an 8 iron but really compare the loft the your clubs in bag and you really hit a 7 iron and hitting it the same. Also the shafts or longer from 6 iron up adding 1/8 inch more each club going up so 4 iron is almost 1 and 1/4 longer and that helps hit longer also. Just compare apples to apples and do research but outside of that this are very good irons and do help on misfits that most of us are going to do. Also look at m2 tour irons but check loft to bc they are different to but closer to older irons. If standard m2 is 25 degrees the same iron number in the tour will be 26.5 degrees so someone should hit standard club longer for just that reason. Know what your hitting before you think that that new club has improved your game so much. Things don't change to much from 1 year to the next but they have changed over a 5 year time frame so you may not need new clubs every year but you want to look when your clubs get older than 5 best thing is know what your hitting and if you hitting it good and like you want why change. If your avg. Drive is 275 and 80% keep hitting that driver till it falls apart bc 5 yards longer is not enough to rIsk losing that 80 to 60% bc you will be have a lot more trouble 2nd shot. Be a better putter and play middle of fairway to middle of green and make lower scores by making putts. Best way to improve game is not clubs it is putting and chipping. Can save many shots from those more than anything. Thanks from your local pro

I am debating on the steel or graphite shaft. I don’t play often 4-5 times a year but hope to be more often.  What would you suggest.

Asked by: Will R
Graphite shafts are much lighter shafts than steel, its a personal preference and may depend on several factors. We would recommend seeing a club fitter for the best answer, as they can properly assess and provide you with the best recommendation.
