Q & A

TaylorMade Men's M2 Fairway

Dominant In Every Detail Of Performance

TaylorMade’s M2 fairway woods were designed with one simple goal in mind: to give golfers maximum distance and forgiveness in a fairway wood. M2 features a shallow face to help improve launch, especially from the fairway, and a larger sweet spot that keeps ball speeds high on shots struck low on the clubface or off the heel or toe. The stock shaft for the M2 fairway woods is the TM REAX, which comes in 55 and 65 gram models, but multiple premium shafts are also available at no upcharge.

Ideal For:

Golfers of all ability levels who want to launch the ball high with their fairway woods while not sacrificing distance or forgiveness. The M2 fairway woods don’t have the adjustable weights or loft sleeve of the M1, but its growing reputation for being extremely easy to hit, especially off the turf, has made M2 a popular choice with members of TaylorMade’s tour staff.

Carbon Composite Crown

The lightweight materials used in constructing the crown enabled engineers to shift weight and mass lower and closer to the M2’s impact zone, resulting in improved launch and spin conditions.

Redesigned Speed Pocket

A larger sweet spot that creates max forgiveness and reduced spin are functions of what TaylorMade calls its “most aggressive” Speed Pocket.

Best In Class Sound

The M2 uses a fluted hosel and internal acoustic engineering to control vibration and pitch, with the result being excellent feedback at impact and a sound that is solid, hot, and crisp.

What They're Saying...

“It’s just so easy to hit.”

Justin Rose, PGA Tour player and 2013 U.S. Open champion

“For us, in terms of fairway wood performance and maximizing distance and forgiveness, it’s M2. It’s basically a cannon. It gets up, launches, and it goes forever.”

Brian Bazzel, TaylorMade Senior Director of Product Creation for Metalwoods

What Players Like You Are Saying...

“I do not do well with fairway woods off the deck, but I was able to hit (the M2) off the deck better than what I’m playing right now.”

TGW customer Mike, 9 handicap, live testing at TaylorMade, 3/9/16

“The M2 felt a little bit more forgiving on mis-hits. The shallower face looks good in inspiring confidence that I can launch this high if I need to.”

TGW customer Chris, 2 handicap, live testing at TaylorMade, 3/9/16

Rated 5 out of 5 by from taylorMade M2 #7 fairway wood My PGA pro recommended that I get a 7 wood to help my 80+yr old golf game. He was right - easier to hit, higher flight and longer carry than my longer irons and woods. Definitely a game improvement addition to my bag.

What is diff between 5 and 5 HL?

HL is an abbreviation for "High Launch." Clubs designated with HL have a lower center of gravity to assist in launching the ball on a high trajectory.

The difference is the loft. The 3 wood has a 15° loft while the 3HL (which stands for High Launch) has a higher loft of 16.5°.

Is 5HL 21 degree the equivalent of a three iron loft or 7 wood?

Asked by: wanna be
The 5HL is pretty much equivalent to a 7 wood which is normally a 21 degree club. It also would replace a 3 iron which can range between 21-24 degrees depending on the manufacture.
