Q & A
The lightweight, composite crown utilized in the M1 fairway woods creates a lower center of gravity, which allows golfers to enjoy optimal launch conditions from a tee or the fairway. Additionally, M1 fairway woods offer an adjustable loft sleeve and sliding weight system that enable players to personalize trajectory. Lofts of 15, 17, and 19 degrees (15 and 19 only for left-handers) are available. The 15- and 17-degree models are 43.25 inches in length, while the 19-degree model is 42.25 inches. The stock shaft is the Fujikura Pro 70 but multiple premium shafts are also available at no upcharge.

Golfers of all ability levels who value customization in a fairway wood. Depending on their individual needs, golfers can use the loft sleeve and track system to help produce their desired ball flight, both in terms of launch and curvature, as well as their preferred look at address. That functionality provides added value in addressing your game’s needs as it relates to your swing and the shots you have to hit at the courses you play.
Chris Schram of TGW talks with a TGW customer about the TaylorMade M1 and M2 Fairways.
The M1 features a thin, lightweight crown, and the weight saved in constructing the crown allowed engineers to move the CG (center of gravity) lower to create optimal spin and launch conditions.
The track system features two 15-gram weights that can be moved parallel to the clubface to achieve a preferred shot shape. Additionally, by completely splitting the two weights, forgiveness is maximized because the club’s inertia is increased.
Twelve different settings and 4 degrees of adjustability (+/- 2° degrees of loft), enable golfers to produce their desired loft, lie, and face angle, allowing them to maximize performance and personalize the look at address.
“There’s a level of personalization and customization that you can get with the M1. We’ve been able to kill a lot of spin and make a very playable, forgiving option.”
Brian Bazzel, TaylorMade Senior Director of Product Creation for Metalwoods
“It’s a beautiful club the way it sits at address. It’s a smaller head shape, frames the ball well. It just sort of inspires confidence standing over the ball that you’re going to hit it in the middle of face. The ball flight was flat but not low; it was a piercing ball flight.”
