Q & A

Overview

  • The most obvious change in TaylorMade’s new M2 rescues is the implementation of the traditional black and white M family crown into the design. The performance benefits of these rescue clubs have been significantly improved as well.
  • At the top of the list is a modified Speed Pocket, which has been made both longer and more flexible to create more ball speed on all shots and improve forgiveness on shots struck low on the face.
  • Another innovation is a new two-tiered sole design that improves turf interaction from any lie condition.
  • Additionally, the new sole works with a shorter fluted hosel to improve feel and acoustics at impact, which are a part of TaylorMade’s new Geocoustic Technology approach.
  • In terms of ball flight, players can expect high launch conditions from the M2 rescues, as well as a natural draw bias.
  • The TaylorMade M2 rescues come in lofts of 19, 22, 25, and 28 degrees
  • Stock shaft: TaylorMade REAX
  • Stock grip: TM Dual Feel

TaylorMade Men's 2017 M2 Hybrids Reax Graphite 5 Senior Right 25.0 is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 67.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Overrated and poor quality The M2 3,4,5 hybrids (R shaft) received were purchased with the specific intent to reshaft because TaylorMade stock shafts are notoriously poor quality (lack consistency in S versus R shafts, no discernible kick point and inconsistent weight). Prior to doing the reshafting, I hit the 4 and 5 off a tee on a mat to get a sense of the weight and feel of the clubhead. My swing is fine (7 handicap, 69 years old and have played for 61 years). Was using Titleist range balls on a 55-60 degree day. One of the worst feeling club heads I've ever struck a ball with -- a mushy feel with a strange subdued sound. Ball flight with the M2 4 & 5 hybrids was embarrassing -- low and left (after warming up for 30-40 minutes with my Adams irons and hybrids -- and M2 driver and 5 wood). I tried the M2s from TGW because in May I demo'd the M3 and M4 hybrids (again a 4 & 5) at a TaylorMade demo day at our club. Trying out the 4 and 5 hybrid using a R shaft (and TM's standard Reax shaft) on demo day convinced me that the M3 and M4 were not any good. So I was anxious to try the M2s. Did not work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Clubs I have always had trouble hitting my 3 Wood. Tried my buddies TM M2 HL 3 Wood. Loved it. So decided to try Hybrids. Loved them. I have always been a Callaway guy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Jury’s still out I bought the M2 hybrids ,3,4,5, and I’m not sure if I like them. I replaced the Taylor Made RBZs , and I may go back. The M2s are solid but I think less forgiving.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely easy to hit and accurate! I tried the M2 Hybrid from a friend’s bag and then again and then again. I hit it so good and so consistent I purchased a new one and and took a Nike CPR out of my bag. This club is not only better, it is longer!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for me Purchased the 3 wood and the 19 degree hybrid without hitting them, that was my mistake. I had read all the reviews about how long and forgiving these clubs were. For me that was not the case. I hit them way too high which resulted in a balloon ball with not much distance. I think we all need to be weary of 15 handicappers talking about hitting the ball 20-30 yards more and working the ball either way. If they could work the ball on demand the wouldn't be playing to a 15. Another thing we must consider is the club manufacturer who's ads talk about the increase in distance their new model has, remember there are spec's which can't be exceeded. All company's build their clubs to the max allowed. An example, I've been trying to replace my Mizuno Comp EZ irons, which are 20 years old, for years. I have yet to find an iron as long or that is so easy to hit that I don't need to practice. Back to the M2's, I would not buy them again, or give them a positive review

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great looking club....easy to align I have been using the M2 3 hybrid for 3 months and I love it more each time I use it. Great penetrating ball flight...long carry and holds the green on approach shots...club head looks great and feels great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Update on a classic I've used TM hybrids for years, and needed to upgrade my well used 3 & 4 hybrids. These are great quality clubs that are even easier to hit that the RBZ models that I had used for many years.

Does Taylor Made make a #6 or #7 hybrid in their M2 series or any other series?

Asked by: mel48
Taylormade did offer a 6H/28degree in the 2017 M2 hybrids. However, we have sold out and it is a discontinued model so we can no longer order them from Taylormade. You may want to check out the latest model Taylormade M4 hybrids. They do currently come with the 6H. You may view the M4 hybrids here http://www.tgw.com/taylormade-mens-m4-rescue
