Who It's For
The PING S259 Chrome Wedges are built for golfers of all abilities who want a Tour-preferred look, feel, and sound with improved precision and versatility around the greens. Ideal for players looking to upgrade their short game with modern, high-spinning technology.
Precision-Milled Wheel-Cut Grooves
Wheel-cut grooves are precision-milled to varying dimensions based on loft. Lower lofts (46°–52°) use a 20° sidewall to maximize groove volume for full-shot control. Higher lofts (54°–62°) feature tightly spaced MicroMax grooves with friction-adding face blast for exceptional spin on finesse shots.
6 Grinds, 25 Combinations
Six sole grind options — S, W, H, B, T, and Eye 2 — give every golfer a match for their angle of attack and typical turf conditions. New 50° and 52° W grind options and a reshaped E grind expand versatility across the full loft range from 46° to 62°.
Technology
Precision-Milled Wheel-Cut Grooves: Grooves are precision-milled to varying dimensions by loft for high-spinning results from all distances and conditions. Lower lofts (46°–52°) use a 20° sidewall groove to maximize volume on full shots; higher lofts (54°–62°) feature tightly spaced MicroMax grooves plus friction-adding face blast for precise launch and spin control.
Investment-Cast 8620 Carbon Steel Head: Tour-preferred construction delivers exceptional feel and sound at impact. A larger, re-shaped elastomer insert behind the face enhances the soft, responsive feel on every shot.
Loft-Optimized CG Placement: Lower lofts (46°–50°) combine a straighter leading edge and lower, more centered CG for better gapping and clean integration with PING iron sets. Mid lofts (50°–54°) use a full-length bottom groove and higher CG for distance control on off-speed wedge shots. Higher lofts (56°–62°) employ more visual offset and a smaller hosel for confident face manipulation around the greens.
Reshaped E Grind: The E grind has been redesigned in the s259 to deliver a more familiar look at address while maintaining elite performance from sand and on slightly open-faced shots.
T Grind: Features a steeper trail edge that allows the face to sit very low on open-face shots, giving skilled players maximum versatility for creative shot-making around the green.
New W Grind 50° & 52° Options: Expanded W grind loft offerings accommodate golfers with steeper angles of attack who need a lower-lofted wedge to optimize gapping into their iron sets.
Dylawedge Grip & PING Z-Z115 Shaft: The new Dylawedge grip is 3/4" longer with less taper and includes visual indicators for gripping down, face angle, and shaft lean. The Z-Z115 steel shaft features a low balance point to enhance clubhead feel throughout the swing.
* These are design specifications that may vary due to manufacturing tolerances. Lie angle is based on Black Color Code at standard length. Standard swing weights shown are with the PING Z-Z115 steel shaft. Graphite-shafted clubs are 2–3 swingweight points lighter.
