Skilled players who open the face around the green. The ADAPT grind is built for maximum greenside versatility and control — sole relief on the heel, toe, and trailing edge, plus a leading edge bounce chamfer that keeps the club from digging on both square and open-face shots. Tour Satin adds a chrome-plated Z-Alloy finish with high glare reduction.
Full-Face Precision
ADAPT is more than a sole grind. It carries its own face shape, groove length, leading edge, and extended high-toe profile. The bigger face and longer grooves deliver more consistent spin, flight, and stopping power on open-face shots, where added loft and clubhead position naturally push contact higher on the face and toward the toe.
Built From Z-Alloy
Z-Alloy is Cleveland Golf’s proprietary steel, engineered exclusively for golf and now in its second generation of blade wedges. Softer at impact, less dense in mass, and stable over time — which lets mass be placed with precision and shapes to be refined with purpose. Compared to 8620 steel: 10% softer, 15% better spin retention, 87% reduced groove wear.
Technology
Bounce Chamfer: ADAPT’s signature sole feature. A raised, flattened leading edge reduces digging on both square and open-face shots — a customization frequently requested by Cleveland Golf tour players.
Full-Face Grooves: Grooves extend across the entire high-toe face so open-face shots still find groove contact instead of missing the scoring area.
ZipCore iQ: Uniquely optimized hosel cores for each RTZ 2 loft and grind combination. Lightweight core variations redistribute mass for more reliable performance on center and off-center strikes.
Z-Alloy: Proprietary steel that is softer, less dense, and remarkably durable, giving the wedge superior feel, better forgiveness, and more consistency.
HydraZip: Face blasts and laser-milled lines maximize spin in wet conditions, dynamically configured by loft grouping to balance spin across lofts.
UltiZip: Sharper grooves cut through grass and debris at contact, while deeper grooves clear grass, sand, dirt, or water from the impact zone for stronger, more consistent spin.
Rotex Milling: Rotational face milling roughens the face to generate more predictable, consistent spin and stopping power from the rough.
Grind-Specific Leading Edges: Each leading-edge radius is tailored to work in unison with its sole shape and bounce profile for improved turf interaction.
Roger Cleveland Signature Grinds: Roger Cleveland led the redesign of every RTZ 2 sole grind, working alongside Cleveland Golf engineers and tour pros.

To match USGA and R&A industry guidelines, Cleveland Golf has modified how club lengths are measured and published. New published specifications are approximately 1/4" longer for wedges. Availability shown reflects the Tour Satin finish in the ADAPT grind only.
