Q & A

Mizuno Men's JPX 900 Forged Irons

Forged Irons With Incredible Ball Speed

The Mizuno JPX 900 is a unique offering in the players iron category. From a look, feel, and control standpoint, there’s no mistaking that this is true players iron. That said, what the JPX 900 delivers from a distance and forgiveness standpoint rivals some of the best game-improvement irons on the market. One of the main reasons that these irons produce such explosive distance is the use of Boron in their forged construction. Boron is 30 percent stronger than the traditional Carbon Steel used in most forged irons, enabling a thinner clubface in strategic locations for faster ball speeds across the face. In terms of forgiveness, engineers have moved 21 grams of weight from the pocket cavity to the extreme perimeter of the clubhead to increase MOI and enhance stability on mis-hits. In addition to those performance attributes, golfers can still expect incredibly soft feel and exceptional acoustics at impact, as well as irons that make it easy to work the ball both in terms of trajectory and ball flight. The stock shaft for the JPX 900 Forged irons is the Project X LZ 5.0, but additional custom options are available at no upcharge as well.

Ideal For:

Low- and mid-handicap golfers who value distance and forgiveness along with the other common attributes associated with players irons. The use of Boron in the design of the JPX 900 Forged irons helps deliver explosive ball speeds for what amounts to uncommon distance from a forged iron. But as a forged iron, the JPX 900 Forged still delivers exceptional feel and acoustics. All said, given how they look, how they feel, and how they perform, this is without question a true players club that will fit a broad range of golfers.

New CORTECH Design

Multi-thickness incorporated into the design of the clubface optimizes ball speed on center strikes and preserves ball speed from other impact points.

New CORTECH Design

Reshaped Pocket Cavity and Power Frame

More than 20 grams of weight were redistributed to the perimeter of the clubhead for enhanced stability and higher MOI.

Reshaped Pocket Cavity and Power Frame

Grain Flow Boron Forging

The use of stronger Boron in the design creates a thinner, faster clubface, but forged construction maintains a soft, solid feel.

What Players Like You Are Saying...

“I loved the Forged. The feel was there, the workability was there, the forgiveness was there.”

TGW customer Jordan, 7 handicap

“It was slightly bigger to look down at (than the Tour model), not hardly at all, which is great. The feel there was maybe slightly better. When it was coming off the face, I couldn’t feel it much in my hands, which I liked. It was a soft face but (the ball) came off hot.”

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PURE Like another reviewer I switched from blades to these. Instantly gained distance on pured shots, with forgiveness. They’re a beauty to set up at address as well. I’ve noticed a slightly lower flight (to be expected with the 1-3 degree lower from trad.), but still land so soft - especially the long irons. Absolutely fantastic clubs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BUTTER I'm 2 months into my JPX900's and I'm blown away. I had been playing an ancient set of Titleist 762's for 12+ years and the difference in feel and distance is insane. They're 1 degree stronger than my previous set and I gained a full club of distance. They don't feel clunky like some of the other game improvement mid-handicapper irons I hit. Would highly recommend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blades to this...... I finally left the blades to the more forgiving iron and man......what was I waiting for. While these are 2-3* hot on each club which amkes you feel like you are hitting you clubs a club longer....I am hitting them 1.5 clubs further. hit a 4 irons 242. PW 165. 7 iron 185-190. 6 iron 205........and on and on. What I like the most is the SOFTNESS. They are so easy to hit compared to my RSi TP's which I LOVE and had a hard time letting go of. Bottom line is that these are elite clubs and while I REALLY liked the tour version of these I just felt the forged version was everything they were plus more forgiving.

All custom orders are filled and assembled by the manufacturer. We would not be able to send out the custom components.
