Q & A
It was 1994 when Cobra released its first Oversized irons set, which through the years have proven be one of the company’s most popular offerings. After a hiatus of a few years, Cobra is reintroducing the franchise with the new KING Oversize irons, which have been upgraded with all sorts of new technology. From a playability standpoint, golfers can expect irons that are incredibly forgiving and deliver impressive distance. They also, however, still provide exceptional feel and the ability to control trajectory and ball flight. The distance the KING Oversize irons generate is fueled by a thin, strong PWRSHELL Face, which works with the sole structure to expand the club’s sweet spot for faster ball speeds from all impact points. Distance is also enabled by a lower CG placement and tungsten weighting in the toe, a combination that also creates optimal stability at impact. A hollow construction, meanwhile, improves feel and creates a consistent ball flight, and U-Grooves in the shorter irons generate more spin to help players control the ball better with their scoring clubs. In terms of a stock shaft, the KING Oversize irons are being offered with UST Recoil 460 graphite shafts or True Temper XP 85 steel shafts.
