Q & A

  • Titleist has set out to create its hybrids for two distinctly different groups of golfers, those who use their hybrids more like an iron and those who utilize their hybrids more like fairway woods.
  • If you’re in the latter category, the 816 H1 was designed for your game. More specifically, it was designed for the player who likes to sweep the ball off the turf.
  • The H1 has a slightly larger overall profile than its H2 counterpart, as well as the face progression typically seen in a fairway wood.
  • From a technological standpoint, the H1 is a high MOI design, which contributes to added forgiveness on mis-hits, and it also features a relieved leading edge that, along with the club’s Recoil Channel, improves turf interaction.
  • The Recoil Channel and thin clubface, meanwhile, combine to create faster ball speeds from impact points across the face.
  • Additionally, Titleist’s SureFit Tour hosel allows for independent loft and lie adjustment, giving players the ability to fine tune the H1 for their preferred ball flight and trajectory, as well as the exact yardage ranges they’re looking for.
  • In one degree increments, the H1 can accommodate lofts of one degree stronger or two degrees weaker, while the lie angle can be played from one degree flat to two degrees upright.
  • The H1 is available in lofts of 19, 21, 23, 25, and 27 degrees, and several premium shaft options are available at no upcharge.
Side of club head

Active Recoil Channel

Allows the club face to flex more at impact, leading to high ball speeds and low spin rates for incredible distance.

Side of club head

Relieved Sole Edges

The relieved leading edge enables better turf interaction for more solid contact from any lie condition.

Bottom of club head

SureFit Tour Hosel

Allows players to independently adjust loft and lie to create proper yardage gaps and achieve their preferred ball flight and trajectory.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 816 H1 Good balance and the ball jumps off of the club face! Easier for me to shape than some others I’ve had.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Self-driving Club I've played golf long enough to know that what happens on the range stays on the range and what happens in the wild can be really wild when you factor in stress and fatigue. All my clubs are "automatic" on the range. My driver easily reaches the back net at 250 of my range, but on the course? Good luck. Anyway, this hybrid is the first long club I've ever owned that directly translates. I bought the 21 with the Diamana White shaft and I find myself using it for more shots that it's intended: high, straight down the middle, low runners, chips and punch outs. The versatility is perhaps the greatest benefit. On a narrow driving hole where the fairway is a must, I'll gladly give up 40-50 yards to be in the middle. I'm back to pick up the 19. I'll adjust it to get a lower loft and suspect I'll be able to get it within a few yards of my 15 degree 3 wood...and hopefully with greater accuracy. For the price, I don't know if there's a better, more versatile club one could bue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Clubs! Greater Price! I picked up these hybrids last month for $130 each. They are easy to hit and look great. A definite upgrade from my old Cobra hybrids. Can’t beat the price or the service at TGW.com.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great club!! I bought this club a few weeks ago and WOW! I have struggled to hit my long irons since I began playing golf 15 years ago. I was reluctant to switch to the hybrids because I didn't think I could control them. These H1 hybrids are the most forgiving fairway woods I have ever used. Very easy to hit very easy to control they get the ball up and carry it fast. Would defiantly recomend

what is the difference between the diamana blue 60 and the red 70

Asked by: doug57
The Blue 60 is slightly lighter than the red 70. Sometimes that's a good thing for swing speed, sometimes a heavier shaft is better.

I’m looking at the Titleist 816 H1 19 degree stiff shaft but not sure the difference in the 3 shafts. I have a Titleist 915 F 3 wood with the Diamana s+70 x5ct flex-S and like it and would like to keep the hybrid as close as possible to that shaft

Asked by: Yankee18
The Diamana Blue shaft is the lightest option with a mid-launch profile. The DIamana White shaft is the heaviest option for fast swing speeds and features a low-mid launch profile. The Aldila shaft is in the middle in weight and has more flex options in a mid-launch profile.

My irons are adjusted to be 2 degrees flat.  Can the hybrids be done the same way?

Asked by: Great Aboo
These hybrids do include independent loft and lie angle adjustment but can only be adjusted to 1° flat.

While we don't have any stiff flex shafts available for that club in the stock options, there are more available under the Enter Custom Specs tab at the top of the page.

What do the 1-4 settings mean, and what about the A-D

Asked by: Mokie
These correspond to the adjustable loft and lie settings you can make to the club with the SureFit Hosel. Titleist has the full guide available on this page: http://www.titleist.com/fitting/golf-club-fitting/surefit
