Titleist Men's T-MB Hybrid Irons

Speed And Launch With Forgiveness

Titleist would describe its 716 T-MB irons as utility clubs. They’ve been designed for golfers as alternatives to hybrids and traditional long irons, as they’re more workable and versatile than most hybrids and more forgiving and playable than most long irons. That said, they still maintain a traditional look, with thin toplines and a muscleback design. In terms of playability, the most notable attribute of the 716 T-MB is the high launch conditions it generates, which are enabled by tungsten weighting that creates a low center of gravity. Tungsten weighting is also used along the perimeter of the clubhead to increase MOI for more forgiveness on mis-hits, and a thin clubface produces high ball speeds on all shots for increased distance. The 2-5 irons in the 716 T-MB are available to be purchased individually as a stock order. What makes this product especially interesting, however, is that the 6-PW are also available individually as a made only to order product, giving players the option of playing an entire set of T-MB irons. In terms of a stock shaft, Titleist is offering the True Temper Dynamic Gold, but other premium options are available at no upcharge as well.

Ideal For:

Golfers of all ability levels who are looking for an alternative to a hybrid or traditional long iron. Visually, with its thin topline and muscleback design, the 716 T-MB might appeal most to lower-handicap players. From a playability standpoint, however, these irons will work for a wide variety of players, especially given the high launch angles they produces and the forgiveness they provide.

High-Density Tungsten Weighting

Creates a low center of gravity for higher launch, less spin, and faster ball speeds, and is also positioned along of the perimeter of the club to increase MOI.

Trailing Edge Relief

Along with cambered wider soles, the T-MB’s trailing edge relief creates less digging for more solid contact.

What Players Like You Are Saying...

“I was really impressed with the T-MB. I got a really high ball flight with it, and I definitely felt more confident hitting a lower iron with it. I got a little more forgiveness, and I also got a little more distance. It felt great coming off the face.”

Titleist Men's T-MB Hybrid Irons #5 Iron TT Dynamic Gold AMT is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from cant believe how user friendly it plays, replaced an mb with it and will never look back

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Driving Iron Option! I bought the 2-iron version to use mainly off the tee in must hit fairway scenarios. Works excellent off the turf as well, I use this when I am struggling with my 3-wood. Stopping this club is a lot easier than many will think, flight can be manipulated better than a hybrid for soft landings or going under the wind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2 iron Was looking for something that flighted lower than my hybrid and got exactly that. Same distance as my 18 degree hybrid and hits like a 4 iron. Certainly not for everyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible Feel At Contact I had used a traditional 3-Hybrid but never got the results I wanted. I am a solid iron player, so I was interested in this iron to replace that hybrid. Best decision I could make. Easy to hit and feels great at contact.

what is the difference in the Rifle Project X Shaft and the Project X PXI shafts?

Asked by: Teed
The PXI shafts are going to create greater distance because they are made lighter. The weight would change depending on the flex you would choose. The PXI also have a .355” tapered tip diameter.

Why are T-MBs often labeled as hybrids?  And why does Titleist label them as utility clubs?

Asked by: JosephM
They are basically a hybrid Iron. They are considered Utility because they are not considered a hybrid, or a iron, thus they are a "utility" club. They have a little extra thickness to them so they cannot be considered an iron.

How is this hybrid 5 iron different from a standard five iron?

Asked by: Mike Mc
Compared to the Muscle-back standard 5-iron, the T-MBs will be bigger, having a hollow inside. This makes them similar to the AP2 irons being more forgiving and heavier weighted.

how accurate is the fitting customization tool that measures the size of your hands and height when picking lie angle? Since these are not forged clubs, I do not want to get these turned only to have to turn them again.

Asked by: Markkkk
The fitting tool is very accurate. I am confident you will get the customization that you need. Thank you for your question!
