Q & A

Titleist Men's AP2 716 Irons

Tour-Proven Distance And Forgiveness

At address, there’s no question that the 716 AP2 is a players iron, as thin toplines, minimal offset, compact blades, and a forged construction are all part of the stylish package. When you hit the AP2 irons, however, their incredible performance rivals that which can be found in many game-improvement irons, as impressive distance and amazing forgiveness are all part of this club’s playability, along with the soft, crisp feel that Titleist is known for. Given that combination of look, feel, and playability, it should come as no surprise that this is an iron that’s getting plenty of play on Tour.

Features:

  • Tungsten weighting that was used in the design low and along the perimeter of the club head increases MOI and helps lower the center of gravity, producing more speed and stability at impact for better results on mis-hits.
  • Optimized CG progression, meanwhile, provides a consistent, tour-proven trajectory with every club, and wider soles with trailing edge relief enable more consistent contact by preventing digging.
  • The stock shaft for the AP2 irons is the True Temper Dynamic Gold, but other custom options are available at no upcharge as well.
  • The stock grip is the Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360

Titleist Men's AP2 716 Irons is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sticks. 5 handicap. Hit 710 AP2s for 8 years. Only replaced because because a few irons were concaved in the middle for overuse. Went with these 716s over the 718s because TGW had a great deal on the 716. The addition of the 52* is nice. However I do wish it still came with a 3 iron, as I typically play a 2 iron as well. But they hit the same in my opinion as the older 710s. Just plain lazers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Irons and service from TGW Good looking and hitting irons. Very comfortable over them after a practice round and time at the range. Shipping was delayed one day, but that was not the fault of TGW.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great set of irons Bought less than a month ago. Very playable good feel. Higher ball flight than previous CCI irons. Very happy with purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from On 2nd Set Bought the 716's for my son (scratch golfer). I'm playing with his 714's. I prefer the feel of them over my Callaway X22's, though I don't get the spin with the AP2's that I did with the cast iron heads. We are using the DG stiff shafts on the AP2. Very happy with the line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Irons I bought these irons about a month ago and I have absolutely loved them. These are the first new clubs I have purchased in over ten years. So, needless to say, I have seen a massive improvement over my previous irons. These irons have an unbelievably soft sweet spot that is super gratifying when you hit them right. I highly recommend these to anyone who has relatively good ball striking capabilities! You won’t regret it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Glad i did it. Was referred to this site by a buddy (thanks, Travis) who encouraged me to buy through the site rather than go through a fitting and local retailer. I am average height and size and know what I like in a shaft. I received the clubs 3 weeks ago and couldn’t be happier. I have 5 rounds under my belt and am in the market for a driver. Great pricing.
