Q & A

TaylorMade Spider Tour Red w/Sightline Putter

Sleek Design, Tour-Proven Roll

The choice for many of the best players in the world, TaylorMade Spider Tour putters are modern mallets that features enhanced perimeter weighting to provide more stability at impact and better performance on mis-hits. They features TaylorMade’s Pure Roll insert, which combines 45-degree grooves and soft polymer to create incredible feel and more topspin, the latter of which gets the ball rolling more quickly for improved distance and speed control. While the original Spider Tour Red putter featured no sightlines, this new model has a single sightline on the top of the putter head for players who like to use a sightline for alignment purposes. Also of note, while this is a modern mallet design, the Spider Tour Red is not face balanced like many mallets and actually has 38 degrees of toe hang, which means it will work best for players with a moderate or slight arc in their putting stroke.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great putter I am 68 years old and have been playing golf since I was 11 years old. The Spider putter is absolutely the best putter I have ever played with. I play 5 days a week and have now played about 15 rounds with this putter. I have only had 3 three putt greens with this putter and I am constantly making putts from all over the green. The roll on the ball is true and from 15 feet and in I have gained a lot more confidence than I had with previous putters. As I have gotten older the short putts just weren’t falling like they did when I was younger. With the Spider putter, I been making more putts and my handicap has gone back to one digit after being at 10-11 for the past few years. I have been playing at a 8 handicap for the past week and with the Spider putter in my bag I think I have a legitimate chance to get back to the 6 handicap I was just a few years ago.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great putter bad paint quality. Bought the putter a couple of weeks ago, played around 6-7 rounds with it, already showing signs of wear in the insert paint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent results Recently purchased this putter and the results were very positive. On my second outing, I had 9 one putts, all varying lenghts. On my fourth outing, I had 8 one putts. 3 putts have gone down to a minimum. Very pleased with this putter.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing It was exactly what I ordered, but after trying it out, it just didn't perform. Did not have very good feel and even though it was not face balanced, it didn't seem to come through the ball. Specs very close to my other putter (Ping), but just didn't perform.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I was a terrible putter I could not putt. Brick hands and horrible alignment. 7 handicap player if I could just get it in the hole. I went to the super golf store and tried every putter. Took me 3 hours! The spider with the line, just made sense to my brain. Hit the course. IMMEDIATELY I started draining everything. Straight back and through. Easy! My foursome threatened to step on it if I put it down. 5 strokes. My buddies call it the RED DEVIL

How do I measure the length of the putter when ordering?

Asked by: Spidale
You measure down the shaft. From where the club meets the ground to the top of the grip to find the putter length. If you're looking to fit yourself for a putter then Standard Putter Sizing Guidelines. If you're 6 feet or taller, use a 35 inch putter, and if you're 5 feet 10 inches to 5 feet 11 tall, use a 34-inch putter. Golfers who are 5 feet 9 to 5 feet 10 should use a 33-34 inch putter and a 33-inch putter if you're 5 feet 5 to 5 feet 8 tall. Please be advised these are just guidelines and we would recommend seeing a club fitter if you're unsure.
