Q & A

Overview

  • TaylorMade's new M4 irons create a new generation of straight distance, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Their new RIBCOR design transfers more energy to the golf ball by stiffening the perimeter of the club and focusing flexibility where you make contact.
  • Heel and toe weighting are optimized to increase MOI and forgiveness by adding weight to perimeter of the club head.
  • M4 irons are ideal for golfers who not only want to hit the ball longer and straighter but do it more consistently.

Features

  • New RIBCOR design stiffens the perimeter of club head, focusing face flexibility in the hitting area for distance and forgiveness with greater energy transfer to the golf ball
  • Optimized heel and toe weighting increase MOI for even more forgiveness
  • Speed Pocket structure and ultra-thin leading edge work together to increase speed on shots hit low on the face
  • Fluted hosel and 360° undercut cavity saves weight, redistributing it low in the head to increased launch distance and consistency

RIBCOR

New RIBCOR design localizes club face flexibility in the hitting area to transfer more energy to the ball for more distance and forgiveness. It also stiffens the perimeter of the club head for a more rigid club, enhancing sound and feel. RIBCOR creates a tighter dispersion by limiting the flexibility of the toe area.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mr. Baisden I have been player golf for many years. I am 60 years old. I think that this has to be the best irons I have ever hit in my life. I you need to get the ball in the air fast and check on the green. Because of my age I have not been able to get good high, But when I purchase the taylormade M4. I am starting to enjoy golf again. If you are like me.Then this is the club for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing forgiveness. I bought a set of M4 irons in June, 2018, from 6 to PW. Compared to my previous set, they are definitely more forgiving. Off center hits do not yield disastrous results. In fact, a lot of them end up being just as good as my previous clean strikes with my previous set. One thing I've had to get used to is the strong lofts of the irons. The 7 Iron at 28.5 degrees is pretty much close to my old set's 5 Iron, although with a slightly shorter shaft. With the pitching wedge at 43 degrees, I was pretty much forced to buy a 48 degree wedge to sit between the PW and my SW at 54. Overall, I'm pleased. Solid shots feel even crisper and the clubs give me a great sense of confidence.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decreased Loft, Longer Shaft, Increased Distance? I gained anywhere from 5-10 yds. distance on each club compared to my old set. Reason: Loft and shaft length. Example: Old set 8-iron: Loft is 36 degrees, length is 36.25". New set 8-iron: Loft is 33 degrees, length is 36.5". Decreased loft and extended shaft length may lead me to believe I am getting more distance. Fact is, my "old" 8-iron is equivalent to my "new" 9-iron. I'm not really getting more distance per club. What used to be labeled as an 8-iron, is now labeled as a 9-iron.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As advertised Only 2 rounds so far but an extra club in length and straighter every time. Even after poor contact shots stay fairly straight.

Can I get this set with the shfts 1-1/2 over standard, with the same club head weight

Asked by: Leslie C
To customize the clubs to your desired shaft length click the "enter custom specs" tab located right above the image of the irons, on the product page. Changing the length of the shaft does not change the club head weight.

Have m4 hybrids. Like to get 6 thru PW. Will you break up a set? Would pick up at retail store in Wichita.

Asked by: Jay V
These are only available in the ful stock sets listed. You do, however, have the option to place a custom order to choose your set composition. Simply click the "enter custom specs" tab located just above the image of the irons. Custom club orders do take between 2-4 weeks in process, from the manufacture, for delivery.
