Q & A

TaylorMade Men's M1 430 Driver

Performance For Every Swing

The M1 430 features a more compact 430cc profile compared to the 460cc M1, but like its counterpart, the 430 was designed to combine incredible distance and feel with customization options that allow recreational golfers to set up their drivers with the same precision that Tour players seek when working directly with TaylorMade’s professional fitters. The key component in the M1 430 is the lightweight crown, which allows additional weight to be utilized on the bottom of the club to achieve preferred trajectory and ball flight. The M1 430 comes at a stock length of 45.5 inches and is available in lofts of 8.5, 9.5, and 10.5 (right-handed only). Three unique stock shafts are offered to address ball-flight preferences, and nearly a dozen premium shafts are available at no upcharge.

Ideal For:

Golfers of all ability levels, although its more compact look probably will appeal most to more accomplished players. The 430 is generally regarded to be slightly less forgiving than the 460cc version of the M1. That said, the numerous customization options of the 430 can benefit just about anyone. If you want to eliminate a hook or slice, need to hit the ball lower or higher, or want to bring your spin numbers down, M1 430 will offer a setting to help you accomplish those goals. A commitment to experimenting with different settings is a must to get optimal performance, but this is a driver than truly can be personalized.

TGW Customer Feedback on the TaylorMade M1 and M2 Drivers

Multi Material Construction

Multi-Material Construction

The M1 features an ultra-thin, ultra-light, and high-strength crown. The weight saved in the crown’s construction enabled the CG (center of gravity) to be moved lower for faster ball speeds and also created enhanced moveable weight adjustability to help golfers achieve the ball flight and trajectory they desire.

T-Track System

Two different track systems exist on the bottom of the M1. The front track, which runs parallel to the clubface, features a 15-gram moveable weight that allows golfers to achieve a neutral, draw, or fade bias. The back track, which runs perpendicular to the clubface, features a 10-gram adjustable weight that allows players to generate low, medium, or high launch and spin conditions. Additionally, by moving the back track’s weight all the way back, forgiveness is enhanced as the club’s inertia is increased.

Close-up of club head

Adjustable Loft Sleeve

Twelve different settings and 4 degrees of adjustability (+/- 2° degrees of loft), enable golfers to produce their desired loft, lie, and face angle, allowing them to maximize performance and the look of their driver at address.

What Players Like You Are Saying...

“The M1 430 would be my preference (because of) the customization, the smaller head, and the feel, for me, which is a big thing. The M1 430 had a really muted sound, which is my personal preference. This launched a little bit lower and a little bit less spin, which I like.”

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice driver! Still learning how to hit this driver, but when I hit it well it’s long!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Driver and tremendous value ! I've had this driver in my bag for month and couldn't be happier. It is at least 20 yards longer than my previous driver, but better yet, my mis-hits travel as far as a good hit with my old driver. And the price...WOW !

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Overrated I have a natural draw/hook off tee box, I moved slider all the way to fade and noticed no difference in ball flight

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Feel, Excellent Distance I saw this club on TGW at a great price about a month ago. Saved almost $300 off of the original price when it was released a couple years ago. I had been looking for a driver that had a smaller head than everything else on the market. This club definitely fit my needs and expectations. Swinging this club is a dream. It gives me the distance of a driver but feels more like a 3 wood, which is exactly what I was looking for. I hit the ball straighter than with my old 460 cc drivers and have gained between 20-30 yards of distance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I bought this about a month ago as an upgrade from my rocketballz driver. Easily added 15-20yds to my drive with added accuracy. I love this driver!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWESOME!!! I was skeptical after reading some negative reviews. I can honestly say I’m get 15-20 extra yards over my old RBZ driver. It look different, sounds different and feels different but man I have it dialed in now. Not a big fan of all the adjustments available but after I chose a setting that I hit well I left it there and never looked back. An absolute steal at $250

Can I get it with a regular shaft. I'm 70 and find that I need a regular shaft.

Asked by: Deltoids
I'm sorry, we are sold out of regular flex shafts for this club.

Of the optional shafts, which would you recommend for an athletic 65 year old. 6'6" tall. Bogey golfer. Used to playing with a stiff shaft, with a little extra length. Swing speed moderate. Am inclined to try an 8.5 degree wood, as I get the ball up

Asked by: Anonymous
The MRC Kuro Kage in stiff flex is the only shaft option we have remaining in stock for this driver.

I am 5' 4" tall, weigh 145 pounds.club head speed 85-90. Average drive around 200-210 yards Iam a straight driver off the tee. I am 78yo. Pl. recommend the length of the shaft, and flex. Which is better for me, M1 2016, M1 430 or M2 2016? Thanks.

Asked by: Chandrakant
For the length of club, we always recommend getting fit as that's not an easy recommendation we can make online without seeing your actual swing. Based on club head speed, you could most likely use a regular flex shaft. Both the M1 and M2 will work. If you're looking for distance and more customized shot shape, the M1 is for you. If you're looking for distance with more forgiveness, the M2 would be your choice.
