TaylorMade Men's 2017 M2 Fairway Woods

Same Explosive Distance, Even Easier To Hit

M2 fairway woods were a revelation for golfers in 2016, as professionals and recreational players alike marveled at the distance they produced. In fact, many players ended up playing their M2 fairway woods with weaker lofts because they were easier to hit and went just as far as the stronger lofts they had played previously. With its new line of M2 fairways, TaylorMade is setting the bar even higher, as new technology is making the M2 even more explosive and significantly more forgiving. The M2’s lightweight carbon crown and lighter fluted hosel are enabling an even lower CG placement that generates faster ball speeds, higher launch conditions, and enhanced stability at impact. Additionally, the Speed Pocket on the new M2 fairway woods is longer and more flexible, a combination that provides ball-speed protection on shots struck low on the clubface. TaylorMade is also utilizing Inverted Cone Technology for the first time in a fairway wood, which allows for a faster clubface and enlarged sweet spot. And finally, as part of TaylorMade’s Geocoustic Technology, a new two-tiered sole has been implemented to improve turf interaction, while external sound ribs have improved sound and feel at impact. TaylorMade M2 fairway woods come in lofts of 15 (175cc), 16.5 (177cc), 18 (154cc), 21 (156cc), and 24 (145cc) degrees, and the stock shaft is the TM REAX, which comes at 65 grams in extra stiff and stiff flexes and 55 grams in regular and senior flexes. Other premium shafts are available at no upcharge as well.

Ideal For:

Players of all ability levels. Plain and simple, new M2 fairway woods will offer playability and performance for pretty much everyone. They’re long, they’re even more forgiving than before, they produce naturally high launch conditions from a tee or the fairway, and they’re available in multiple loft options to fill the gaps in any player’s bag. M2 fairways were a massive success in 2016 and there’s no reason to think that won’t continue with the new design, and you can expect to see these fairways in the bags of PGA Tour players, high-handicappers, and everyone in between.

TGW Review of the TaylorMade M1 and M2 2017 Fairways

TGW staff members recently had the chance to try out the new M1 and M2 fairway woods and came away impressed with how they performed and with the changes that were made from a technology standpoint.

Speed Pocket

Redesigned to be longer and more flexible, the Speed Pocket creates more ball speed and provides ball speed protection on shots struck low on the clubface.

Two-Tiered Sole Design

Improves turf interaction from all lie conditions for more consistent results.

Geocoustic Technology

Optimal sound and feel are created by combining unique geometric shaping and improved acoustic management in the overall design.

Lightweight Fluted Hosel

By saving weight in the design of the Fluted Hosel the CG was able to be positioned even lower and deeper.

What They're Saying ...

“The M2 fairway wood has a larger footprint but we wanted it to be more forgiving. And we also wanted it to be more playable, which is why we changed the sole design. It also has incredible sound and feel.”

Brian Bazzel, TaylorMade Senior Director of Product Creation for Metalwoods

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A BEAST!!!! More carry, more roll (with the driver & 3 wood) these are just a beast!!!! N fact, the 3 was almost as long as the driver, so I got the Driver, 5 wood, and 4 hybrid. My fitting made ALL the difference, STOP buying off the rack!!! Trust me on that one...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Taylor Made M2 5 fairway wood I purchased this club three weeks ago and have used it twice during rounds and have practiced with it several times. I find this club to give me the launch I needed. I was having issues with getting the ball in the air with older clubs. The M2 with the senior shaft solves that problem. Just for the record I am 70 years young and suffer from arthritis in my right shoulder, for a lefty that is not good. I am very pleased with the performance of this club and would buy it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Explodes off the clubface Considering I have a tough time hitting Driver, a 3 wood is always my fall back club off the tee. WOW, the distance I get from this club keeps my driver in the bag. I hit it further than my previous 3 wood/metal and it's more forgiving than my any Driver I've hit. Great purchase !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great club. Same feel as the M2 driver. Very happy with this club. When struck properly the ball flys off the clubface.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent fairway club. Super easy to hit. Bought this 3 weeks ago; played twice with it, and found it easy to hit and straight. It's got the normal high 5 wood trajectory, and I like the way the club head looks on the ground. Much easier to hit than my old Ping G.
