Q & A
Srixon has enjoyed incredible success over the course of the last several years with its two premium golf balls, the Z-Star and Z-Star XV. Since being launched in 2008, Z-Star series golf balls have accounted for more than 450 wins on professional tours around the world, including more than 225 in the last three years alone. Despite all of that success, Srixon has continued to make research-and-development advancements in an effort to deliver even better performance from each ball. The fifth generation of the Z-Star and Z-Star XV has just been released by Srixon, and significant improvements having been made to each. In terms of the new Z-Star XV, the new Dual Energetic Gradient Growth Core features a larger, softer inner core and a more consistent outer core in terms of hardness, with the result being faster ball speeds, higher launch angles, and less spin off the tee. Additionally, the 338 Speed Dimple Pattern has been made more aerodynamic to reduce drag, which produces more control and consistent flight conditions. The proprietary Spin Skin coating is also softer in the new ball for enhanced feel on all shots and more spin around the greens.
