Srixon Men's Z 965 Irons

Blade Golf Irons For Demanding Golfers

Of the three models in its new Z Series iron lineup. Srixon makes it quite clear that the Z 965 was developed for the best ball-strikers in the world. The true muscleback design, compact blade shape, thin topline, limited offset, forged construction, and narrow sole all combine to create an iron that delivers incredible feel, acoustics, workability, and control. What’s not on that list of attributes is forgiveness. And while these irons would qualify as equally or more forgiving than most true blades, forgiveness is definitely not their calling card. One can, however, expect amazing turf interaction with the Z 965s thanks to the new Tour V.T. Sole, which glides through the turf effortlessly with any lie condition to promote solid contact and improved shot dispersion. In terms of a stock shaft, players can choose from either the True Temper Dynamic Gold or the Nippon Modus Tour 120. For those who need a different fit, however, Srixon is offering all of its custom steel shafts at no upcharge in the Z 965.

Ideal For:

Low-handicap players. While every golfer would probably love to have irons in the bag that look as sexy as the Srixon Z 965s, unfortunately, they just won’t deliver optimal results for the masses. While it holds its own against others in its category in terms of forgiveness, this is an iron that has been designed for elite ball-strikers, those who hit the center of the face time and time again. For the players who do that, they will get rewarded by the 965s with the ultimate in feel, control, and workability. For those who aren’t as consistent, the Z 765 or 565 deserve more serious consideration.

What They're Saying...

“The Z 965, that’s going to be for the ultimate ball-striking, for the most advanced players that want the most compact profile, the most workability and control. The Z 965 is for guys that really need that workability. We do have a lot of Tour pros use that as well, and it’s a good option for guys who love that pure blade design.”

Eli Miller, Srixon Golf Product Manager

“We are really excited to bring back the Tour V.T. Sole, which we do have featured in all three of these new Z-series irons. What we’ve done with the Tour V.T. Sole for this generation is make it even better. How did we make it better? We removed a little bit of material from the trailing edge and we rounded out the heel and toe portions to make it move even more efficiently through the turf.”

Eli Miller, Srixon Golf Product Manager

What Players Like You Are Saying...

“The 965 was much more forgiving than I would have anticipated for an iron in this category. I was also impressed at how easy it was to get the ball in the air.”
