Q & A
Srixon’s primary objective with the 3 series, including the Z 355 fairway woods, was to design clubs that would provide golfers with more consistent results even after poor swings or strikes. A new approach helped Srixon accomplish that goal, as it created Action Mass Technology for the 3 series product line. Company engineers discovered that by utilizing heavier clubheads with shafts that featured a higher balance point they could create clubs that delivered not only more distance but increased stability and forgiveness as well, a combination that leads to more consistent results. Additionally, in terms of technology, the 355 fairway woods feature steel face cups, which create larger sweet spots and a clubface that flexes more to help maintain faster ball speeds from all impact points. The 355 fairways were also created with a shallow head design that helps generate higher launch. And finally, the Miyazaki Jinsoku shaft that comes stock in the 355 fairway woods is crucial to the design, as Srixon and Miyazaki collaborated to implement the higher balance point needed to make Action Mass work as intended. The Z 355 fairways are available in lofts of 15, 17, 19, and 22 degrees, and all four models utilize bonded hosels, so there is no adjustability.

“I really liked the 5-wood. I’m probably more of a 5-wood guy than a 3-wood guy. I felt like it launched really well. It was easy to hit. It seemed more consistent, I don’t feel like I had as many misses, and I definitely think it’s a little longer.”
