Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Went back to my SGX, although it is such a chore every time I have to upload a new course to the SGX. Their software is horrible if you are an Apple user.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too many issues I've had this unit for about 2.5 years. The first issue I had was with it freezing after 2-4 holes, and not recovering. i would turn it off and then back on, it would recover briefly, and then freeze again within a couple of holes!! The 2nd issue was when I couldn't download new courses. I spent an hour on the phone with their techs, and was finally told to "download the courses, one at a time". ARRRGGGH! I just re-upped my membership earlier this year for around $100. I'm gonna get a Garmin, and then try to recoup some of my subscription cost. Wish me luck, and you stay away fro skycaddie!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Battery life stinks I upgraded from the SGX5 to the Touch because the battery on the SGX5 failed, and they talked me into upgrading, what a mistake. The new touch units battery was drained before I could complete a 4.5 hour round. Thought it may have been me, so I made sure it was fully charged before using again. Same thing drained battery after 17 holes. Contacted them reporting the issue, they sent a replacement unit, same results. Contacted support again, asked for my $$$ back, they said we don't do refunds, but they sent a third unit, claiming it will work. Guess what, same results, their specs say the battery life will last 10-12 hrs, it doesn't. They have a major problem but won't admit it. They finally agreed to a full refund. I've had a SkyCaddie unit for years always satisfied, but no more.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from good features when it works I purchased my skycaddie touch about a year ago and it has not preformed very well. It switches holes or turns off in the middle of a round. Presently it is locked up and can not use it. Bad product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Touch - after four rounds - observations I put the Touch in use 27 Apr 16 and was immediately happy that I didn't buy a refurbished SGX (button cover broke off). The hole number always appears in same location on various screens (unlike SGX). The screen information is larger and more readable (close up reading glasses not required). The ‘start-up’ and screen changes are faster than my SGX -- particularly the course automatic search (never used it on the SGX !). I like the icon navigation verses the button use for distance measurement. The auto hole advance normally asks for confirmation to go to next hole -- however, if it advances on its own I lose the distance measurement (disappointing) at green. Adjusting the cursor takes a bit of practice (to activate and adjust), but is relatively easily done with 'circle' appearing above finger on screens. Adjusting hole location cursor on greens is more challenging, but mastery is coming. I don't use score keeping feature. Hole selection is by number on menu (better than scrolling thru numbers on SGX) and redraw is immediate. Like the distance arcs view -- screen tap toggle with cursor distance from tee to fairway to hole (location in fairway is good for hole distance rather than as the crow flies distance shown at top of screen). Again I am very happy with the TOUCH with one exception -- battery recharge seems to be about one for one with hours of use on course (via computer or with USB to 110v adapter [transformer ?]). NOTE: apparently, SKYGOLF TOUCH software updates eliminated many of complaints written by early TOUCH users. I have Double Eagle membership (one renewal). Oh, the power button sensitivity is a learning experience -- now mastered. The online user instructions PDF is thorough (no hard copy with 'open box' purchase from SkyGolf). Touch fits my BagBoy electonic device holder on BagBoy Swivel cart handle (glad I bought one).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from SkyCaddie is losing ground I bought this as soon as it came out and was fairly excited at the prospect of upgrading from my previous SGX that had a button fall off. Boy am I disappointed. It is very very slow to respond to commands. ( Maybe I am used to 21st century equipment like IPhones as this responds like a computer in 1986 ) The usb to computer connection is absolutely worthless. I have called tech support and they respond with "try another port". How about you fix this $%*# you pawn off on us people? I do trust its accuracy over IPhone GPS, etc. and that is probably the only reason it is in my bag - but I believe this companies days are numbered if they don't up their tech game. Golfers will pay for stuff that works and that is fast and responsive ($500 driver anyone?) so try a processor ( or two ) that was actually invented since 2001 would ya?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from lousy battery life owned the touch for over a year. lucky to get fours of use with only 40% of illumination. takes over 12 hours to recharge. I offered to pay the postage if I could get a new battery. SkyCaddie refused. Plenty of better options. previous skycaddies were satisfactory.
