Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good tool for working on your turn/pivot... Bought this just to remain pliable during the winter months, plus eliminate the danger of whacking the dog that the use of a weighted club might have. Success on both counts there! I find this very helpful in terms of stretching, but also in simplifying the body movements required to make a turn and a swing. We all know that our best swings are practice swings, because we eliminated the ball. This takes it a step further by eliminating the club as well. The turn I make with the Sona is tight and simple, or at least that is how it feels. Without the distractions of ball and club, I seem to be more rotational and have eliminated the lateral movements that are likely the cause of my inconsistency. Trying to do this as much as I can with the hope that I will develop the muscle memory that will carry over to when I get back to playing in a few months. I bought the heavier 8lb version, but I think a couple extra pounds would be good. I don't think the 6 pounder would be enough for any full grown man.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome but expensive Very useful swing trainer ESP. In new York when you can't get out all winter. This makes you swing on plane and helps you feel a proper release, I bought the8 lb model and going right to one of my irons after swinging the sona makes a beautiful smooth powerful swing. I was very disappointed with the workout dvd, for 80 bucks I think it should have been more in depth but overall I would recommend this product if you want to improve your game .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to handle I like the Sona Trainer for warming up before rounds. Added benefit: I use it with workout dvd's that call for a medicine ball. It's heavy like a traditional medicine ball but MUCH easier to handle. All the benefit, less risk of broken toes! I also liked the dvd - informative & succinct.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great off-season conditioning tool as well as pre round warmup. Def. glad i went with the 8lb. model. Little pricey but the feedback is almost immediate.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Swing and Weight Shift Traininer I bought this trainer on the advice of my golf pro who is reshaping my swing to use my lower body instead of my upper body to hit the ball. The trainer allows me to get a little bit of swing work in every-day that I do not go to the golf course or the driving range. Well worth the money, I am already starting to hit the ball further even though I no longer swing as hard with my arms.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent piece of fitness equipment Really gives a good core workout and works the "golf" muscles. The handles allow you to release the clubhead just like with a club, as opposed to regular medicine balls.

trying to decide between 6 & 8lb. i'm 59 yr. old male in fairly good shape (210 lbs.). What would you recommend?

Asked by: Seaislealan
We recommend for you to pick what would work best in how much strain or muscle building you want to put on your body. The 8lb. trainer is what is considered an all-level weight while the 6lb. is considered more of a light weight that would not put as much strain on your back muscles.
