PING Men's S55 Irons

Higher flying long shots; more control on approach shots!

The PING S55 Iron is a tour-style blade with stronger lofts which provides added distance with control while increasing workability for shaping shots. The 17-4 stainless steel heads feature a tungsten toe weight to enhance forgiveness, and a vertical stabilizing bar for precise distance control. The low-profile custom tuning port (CTP) has changed from a thermoplastic urethane to a thermoplastic elastomer that absorbs vibrations, resulting in a softer feel at impact.

PING Men's S55 Irons feature:

  • Set includes: #3 thru PW (46°)
  • CTP is larger and sits deeper in the sole to optimize the center of gravity for improving launch conditions
  • Thinner face helps increase ball speed for added distance
  • Vertical stabilizing bar is narrower in the long irons and wider in the short irons to soften the feel and optimize center of gravity position
  • 17-4 stainless steel body and face material with tungsten toe weight for more forgiveness
  • Thin top lines, a compact head (slightly smaller than the PING S56)
  • Simplified cavity and a brushed satin-chrome finish create a clean, confidence-inspiring design
  • Use the Ping Color Code Chart to find the right lie angle dot for you
  • PING CFS (Control, Feel, Stability) steel shaft available in Regular Stiff X-Stiff
  • Available in right- and left-hand

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Looking Clubs I had the S56 irons and really lied them BUT the S55 irons are even better. The heads are slightly smaller but they really pack a punch! Just a great club for the lower handicap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sorry Ben! I bought the S55's a couple of weeks ago and finally moved them from the driving range to the course today. I'm still cleaning the grass out of my lower lip, as my jaw was dragging all over the fairway. As the round progressed, I felt a confidence that I had never experienced before. Coming off of 15-years of Ben Hogan FTX forged irons I was aprehensive about a loss of feel. Not to worry and sorry Ben. The feedback from these clubs is definitive, the trajectory was PGA Tour like, and I was swinging all clubs including 3-irons that never left flagsticks. My only question is, "Why on earth is Ping discontinuing these clubs?" They're magnificent...period...and now I may have to buy another set...without the wife finding out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great look, great feel I have played forged clubs forever for the feel. These have the feel of a forged and have a lot let spin on the ball to keep them straighter. Love them. Had a hole in one with them today!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy custom order The PING S55 irons are a classic looking blade iron. The custom order process from TGW was easy to navigate. I ordered the irons with Dynamic Gold tour issue shafts with a white color code. I received the irons after order in two weeks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sweet irons, next best thing to forged I got this in 7 business days and they are superb! With the stock CPS shafts i hit them side by side with Mizuno MP-54 KBS Tour 110. I'm surprised how soft the S55 feels. The ball flight is higher with the CPS shaft but it's tolerable. On the misses, i think the S55 is more forgiving. These will be keepers!
