PING Men's G700 Irons Blue 1.0 Upright #4-UW ALTA CB Stiff Right is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 73.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good Iron, but with so-so surface finish :( Purchased those at Markham Golftown 2 months ago, very good Club... BUT, just after 10 round, the club head surface looks more like 10 years old :( Ping should find ways/materials to keep club head finishing last longer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Look, feel and perform great! Played twice with these irons. They feel like a hot knife through butter, smooth and very forgiving! They hit farther than my big berthas.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sad to put them away for Winter First new irons in ten years... worth the wait!!! I've been shaving 5 strokes off per 18 holes. Making shots I haven't made in ten years... and more of them! Miss-hits are still straight. Also, my first graphite shafts. Easily adding 10 to 15 yards per club. Can't wait til play next Spring. Also, added a G400 Max, driver to the bag... forgiving, long and straight. Thanks Ping!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible Irons. Love them. Got fit and purchased these a few weeks after they hit the market. On Trackman I picked up more than 10 yards over old irons (same shaft/length), which were forgiving forged cavity back. 5 handicap golfer who plays 2x a week. These have not disappointed me in any way since they arrived. Long and forgiving for days. My worries: Sound/feel. They do sound odd, and if that's a deal breaker for someone I can understand their hesitation. The performance is more important for me, and they perform in every condition. They feel fine. Not butter soft, but with a sound that is noticeable that will bring a firmer feel. For this golfer, not a problem. Spin on Trackman was lower and I had some concern. The height that these arrive more than compensate and I never experienced any challenges on firmer/faster greens this season in stopping the ball. Pros: Long. Forgiving way beyond advertised. Straight (yes, if you have to hook/cut around a tree and have the ability to do so, these will support that mission). Incredible irons. I see the posts regarding the finish. They are Ping irons that are designed to move through the earth. If keeping them looking like jewelry is of the utmost importance to you, you will possibly feel disappointment. Like old Eye2's (which I sadly never owned), the surface takes a beating hitting objects (and the earth) at somewhat aggressive rates of speed. Remember, Ping used to "refinish" Eye2"s by placing them in a bucket of rocks in essence. The finish for this golfer is great. My importance in clubs lies in performance and low #'s. I realize many rate other things higher. They are long. Did I say that yet? On the course I'm routinely hitting the ball over a club longer. And consistent. There's nothing worse than having things go further than they are "supposed" to....these clubs are remarkably consistent in delivering trajectory and distance. Hope this helps. I don't make investments like this without great trial...they are not cheap. Could not be more pleased with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long, High and Straight The ball jumps off the face. I have regained about one club of distance that I had lost in the last 3 years. These irons are very forgiving and generate a lot of backspin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performance! I am 66 years old, in golf 50 years and HAD a loss of distance. NO MORE, these irons are the best I have had in a LONG time. Great design job PING

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT Irons Recently changed after years of playing blades to these irons and I am extremely happy. Plus this is my 1st set of Pings and I love them They are not "clunky" at address, especially for people used to playing a smaller head. The feel is pretty amazing for a non-forged iron and the ball explodes off the face. My fear was that I would not be able to "work" the ball, but that is not true. You can still shape shots as needed and also just go after it when you need distance. They are a bit lower lofted than most other irons, so you will need a few rounds under your belt before your yardages are "true". The look is simple but beautiful - and the overall performance is A+

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Ping Iron Ever !! I have been playing Ping irons for 40 years and the G700 by far is the best iron I have ever played . I've played 5 or 6 rounds and it without doubt is 8 to 10 yards longer so now I am hitting 8 iron where I use to hit a 7...that is a big deal for any player . Also , the feel is really solid and even off center hits carry a long way and very accurate . I am a 5 handicap and at age 71 can't tell you what a great weapon these are to have in your bag !

Alta CB Graphite is no extra charge if ordering standard iron set....so why is there a $12.50 upcharge if ordering under custom specs?

Asked by: farmgolfer
If ordering standard the $12.50 upcharge is already incorporated in the price. The price per club with the Alta CB Graphite shaft is $162.50. In the custom specs it breaks it down for you letting you know that's the upcharge. For example, if you were to customize 1 club with the Alta CB shaft, you will see that it will also be $162.50 per club which is the same as the cost per club for the stock with the same shaft.
